Anyone who chooses who is PvD should be shot hahahahaha

both

I'm not knocking his productions, because he's got some good one's, but he's a much better dj than he is a producer.

I agree much there.

He hasn't been doing much for me lately.

well the thing is, pvd is so "rated" itd be hard not to vote him as overated, but thats doesnt mean hes crap. i dont like any of his productions really. but hes a good dj nevertheless, but not outstanding IMO

Tiesto is far more overrated

LMAO @ DuMonde TrAnCeR's sig

PvD has been my favorite DJ and producer since I got into Trance, and I believe he will still remain as my favorite for time to come. I voted for both.

Posted by Tilt on Aug-11-2002 13:33:

I chose both and i think that they are both very related: imo the reason why his sets are so great is because he includes a lot of his own tracks or tracks he remixed or reworked. These give his sets an extra touch and that's what makes him better than AvB or tiesto( who's not half as good as a producer). Tracks like Face to Face, Seven Ways, Another way, Forbidden Fruit,... are just fantastic

I like PVD but sometimes I find his style boring. Some of his sets and/or albums puts me to sleep, especially "Out There And Back." On the other hand, some of his sets absolutely destroy me!!

For me, PVD is kind of a mixed bag, more so than any other DJ/producer. Usually I either love everything (with a few exceptions) that a DJ/producer comes up with, or I don't. PVD is kinda in the middle.

I am truely amazed with PVD's live performances. I heard from my friend that His mix on New Year's Eve 2001 in Los Angeles was the best of all time. I had three chances to see him perform live and blew it all. I hear he's coming to Los Angeles again in Novemeber. you can bet I'll be there for sure. 110%. No questions asked.

I think at one time he was heads above all the other DJ's out there. Nowadays these DJ's are so talented, PVD can no longer be considered the undisputed King. I'll also listen to other DJ's before him - for example, he spun near where I live the same night Tiesto spun. I went to hear Tiesto.

at last a thread that says this! i said something along these lines in the Music Discussion forum and this other TA had a go at me!! (http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...5583#post735583

His productions/"re-works" are almost laughable these days. His "re-work" of Iio's "Rapture" for example

About once in a blue moon his sets can get me moving...so I'll just vote for his production being over-rated.
