Thats like negotiationg with someone holding a shotgun to your head and promissing to blow your brains out, and settling down on him just cutting off your tongue and gauging your eyes out with a rusty fork. Your situation has improved slightly, but it doesnt change the fact that a madman is hacking off bits of your body and watching you in pain for his own entertainment.

The republican madness has come so far that the dems are resorting to this guy, to try and talke some sense and rationality to the insane asylum party.

Yes thats the republican jesus saying dont fuck with the debt ceiling.

without bush's tax cuts you wouldn't have even reached the current ceiling.

Obama, March 20th, 2006:

But wait, there's more! After the vote, same day:

Every single Democrat voted against raising the debt ceiling. Every one.

And here's your Senate majority leader Harry Reid scolding Bush for daring to have the gall to ask for a debt ceiling raise. He's the absolute worst:

bush and co couldn't balance the budget during good times, the situations are comparable but not the same.

Personally I hope we do not reach a deal. This will guarantee the Republicans will never hold a federal level office again.

Yea, I guess you are right, people would still vote for them, even after they entirely destroy the US economy and send us financially back to the stone-age.

No new taxes in the past 3 years? Really? LOL! I'll forgive the class warfare rhetoric because I know you don't know any better or any different. If companies are not hiring now, and you think levying additional taxes and regulations will spur them in the direction of growth, you're beyond help. Companies are not hiring because the climate of fear and uncertainty this inexperienced administration has put on businesses. It's as simple as that. They have no idea what's coming down the pike next week, next month, next year, etc. so they feel it's better to sit on the sidelines till the storm passes.

Interesting video. I will laugh if China, in 100-200 years from now lands up in the same boat as the US.

Either way, both choices that are on the table for the Government to choose from will ruin them. The US government dug a whole, that it officially can not get out of.

yeah. it's the republicans fault again. classic Obama: do nothing, offer no plan while sitting back criticizing everyone else's, and wait till the last second and swoop in pretending to be above the fray scolding both sides for "playing politics", and claim armageddon will happen if we don't all do exactly what he wants. where was he 3 months ago on this? 6 months ago? 1 year ago?

WTF are you talking about? Obama spent all that money on "bailouts" and more importantly his sweepting health-care reform. To say that the Republicans caused this is bullshit. For one, its "US" Republicans that are trying to keep us from writing checks we can no longer cash. And Obama and his brilliant ideas is the one that's egging this on. Learn something!

Look.. the reason that we're in a stalemate right now in Congress is because Republicans are steadfast in their/our ideology that we shouldn't be overspending. I certainly don't want to see social security checks stopped from being dispensed. But I certainly don't think that increasing the debt ceiling is a viable way of curbing on nations finances. What needs to be done is a major overhaul on our government spending and that's what the Republicans are trying to do.

My argument is that when Obama first got into office he was faced w/ the greatest economic recession since the great depression and he threw money at it. 720 Billion or something like that.. Then, still in the midst of it all, he decided to reform health care at what is even still an enormeous expense.

I don't think anyone in their right mind should fault Republicans for not wanting to continue this spending.

I don't want to pay more taxes, I'm broke enough as it is. But, so is our country and when you don't have any money, you shouldn't be spending it.

its just the way it is and the way it should be..

Posted by srussell0018 on Jul-24-2011 03:44:

So what is your argument?

Posted by DJRYAN on Jul-24-2011 03:49:

that the Democrats need to reduce government spending by eliminating social policies that are either outdated or unsustainable. We also should eliminate freeloaders for leeching on our welfare system by implementing mandatory drug tests. Then, we need to tell everyone to listen to house music while munching on ecxtasy to that we're all at peace w/ the world.

Then we need to bring our soldiers home now that Osama Bin Laden is dead and we need to revamp our entire nations infrastructure. Roads, bridges, mass transit, and utility grids.

We need to invest in education especially in Math and Sciences and make it mandatory to achieve excellence. Anything less would be totally unacceptable.

We need to get back to fundamentals. Work and get rewarded. Don't and you don't survive. Handouts are over with.

When I start threads saying that America is fucked, it's this sort of idiocy I'm referring to. You are fucking clueless. You have no sense of history and functionally, you're caustically illiterate. Shut the fuck up. You don't even begin to know what you're talking about.
