"real stuff" Real Trance... ummmmmm... ok so what fake trance?
What, Dance, what, euro... Trance is Trance... Dance is Dance and Euro is Euro.... what's fake Trance????

This is how I see it, people in the trance community see trance not music, because music is more than Just Trance

Seems like a lot of people on this board categorize everything thats not trance Shit and Cheese I dont get it.

what, you got something against me bro?
most ppl will agree the stuff they play on z103 is not real trance, its dance music with trance synth lines, they just adopted those from trance music. if you cant tell the difference, well then...

Shit no, i don't even know you.. just like to have an intelligent conversation.. and i know it's not trance.

So trance was developed or created from the clouds or just thin air.

Lest step back, waaaaayyyy back... to blues and blue grass... thats where things started, and developed to other formats of music.

Every style has its unique component but its mostly a collaboration of sound and formats from existing styles.

*Food for Thought*

well...IMO i think not too much trance should make it's way to radio's such as z103.5...because that is just a start...and trance will become hip hop part 2... if you know what i mean.

Correction. Hip Hop Consists of recycled beats from the 60s-early 90s Therefore making it not real at all but rather recycled retro beats that someone is trying to make money off of. I do agree that Electronic Musik will never never make the sales Hop hop does. But then again those who don't like Hip hop and realize it is recycled vinyl will be Intelligent enough not to listen to it or buy it. If I wanna listen to stuff from that era it was recycled from I will go search through my record pile in my living room, pull it out and listen to it. I will not listen to the "real stuff" and listen to some idiot talking about how he is gonna kill someone, or how much booty he gets, or what cars her drives and how much weed he/she smokes. to me hip hop is a music genre that promotes violence and crime. Does electronic musik do that? Not that i recall (except for prodigy).

But now I am way off topic. As for them playing PVD, tehy can play whatever they want. As of now I am turing the Radio permamntly off unless the retro mix in on 99.9 (Don;t laugh! lol)

well it's not entirely recycled music...infact a lot of the newer hip hop songs use new beats made from scratch . oh and also some house songs "recycle". oh well...
but also hip hop was alright actually.. i used to be a big fan... until one day some idiots decided to base their lyrics on a fucking shopping catalogue just to apeal more to the suburban kids *shrug*

u got a point there. but electro musik will not sample and use violent lyrics to sell records.

Lenny Dee - Industrial Fucking Strength 3 - 667 Neighbor of the Beast

lenny dee is on the well known dj label "Damn!" run by destiny or affiliated ( check the website... link is on www.wemf.com)

lisen to this cd and tell me again that electronik music will/has never sample and/or use violent lyrics

ok that was a type-o. I emant to say it has been sampled but will never use violent lyrics to promote itself and sell records. lol my bad

Now as for teh violent lyrics, I never heard of this cd or the title. Which is probably why it has those kind of lyrics to promote itself like hip hop. btw.. is it any good? lol.

I also mentioned that it HAS used violent lyrics (mentioning prodigy recall?)

HAHAHA since you listen to retro, i heard a hiphop copy of Everybody Wants to Rule the World on the radio recently!!! I really like alot of 80's bands, and those seem to be the ones that are copied alot now, they always sound terrible. And also i heard the other day a copied Pink Floyd song, its unbelievable.
As for the violent lyrics, most kids dont go out and buy electronic music for that, only metal and hiphop.

Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall (2002) ?

Posted by Flec on Aug-29-2002 17:40:

its because not all electronica is trance/house etc...

ever herd of "hardcore" terrorcore etc... its one of those.... you probably have because youve been around for awhile

the genre is basicly distorted bass at 200bpm with a death metal singer screaming at the top of his lungs something to the effect of "IM GONNA FUCK YOU UP UP UP UP UP UP" etc..... most songs involve lyrics/samples of drugs/violence/sex etc.... very dark music i usually describe it as electronic death metal

btw "is it any good"

ill leave that for you to decide.... i like a FEW songs but the majority of the cd to me is "noise" and when I call something noise that means its terrible because i like almost every genre however i beleive that music isnt good or bad just prefered by certain ppl

if you want i can send you a couple tracks.... but any cd under the same label as this one should have the same kind of style

Yes I dop remember that shit. Iliek the 200BPM part but iw was too fucked up for me. I heard one song once called "I got the mind of a lunatictictictictictic". whci was fuckedup. I know what u are talking about now. but is thsi style of music actually still made? Lat time I heard it was at the end of 96 when some russian dude handed me a tape with this shit. But then again, is it popular? I mean liek i said, I heard this shit over 6 years ago. If it still around it must be extremely deep burried underground. BTW u are right it is just noise most of the time

I wonder why hip hop is so popular then if it is the same shit?

Posted by Flec on Aug-30-2002 04:27:

well for starters, hip hop isnt noise :P

but your forgeting that most commercial hiphop/rap has some featured singer to come and do the chorus which is usually the only part of the song the ppl like.... look at ja rule... most of his songs have some girl doing some catchy vocals for the chorus

the main reason in my mind that electronica is not popular here in NA is because of 2 reasons, its hard to be a fan of music without being able to see them "perform" which is the case for most young ppl and even some older people, not to mention everyone is so fixed on the chorus-verse-chorus style which can be found int rock/rap etc... not to mention rap and rock and pop are all quick to the punch! there is no 4 minute intro and that is why i think most ppl cant stand electronica not to mention the radio.. their airtime is valuable they cant afford to waste 4 minutes on a boring intro when the could be playing some catchy chorus

just my 2 cents... sorry for the bad grammer/english i really slack off on forums :P

My grammer and english is bad too lol. First of all most of hip hop IS noise. why? Listen to Ja Rules voice. Sound so rusty and he tries to sing, not rap that is even more annoying!!!!!!!

Posted by Flec on Aug-30-2002 05:11:

well i can see what your saying about his voice but once again, that in my opinion is more of a preference of not liking how his voice sounds..... its not neccesarily bad... you just dont happen to like it
