That is one heck of a bass noise you have there. Definitely my favorite bass sound posted in this thread. For the track as a whole, no criticisms I can think of. A+.

By the way, do you still use Reason for all your stuff?

yes, the bass was in thor. im never gonna migrate daws, but... i want some synths soon, i really hope nord redoes the micromodular with usb.

Nice! I like the percussion, very metallic. The oscillating bassline is good, too. That sound coming in at 4:20 kind of grates on me, though, the filter on it sounds quite rough.

I thought I remembered enjoying one of your psyish trance offerings before, and I liked this one, too. Production here is quite good and mix sounds spot on. I felt that bringing back the lead sound (the one that starts around 3:36) one more time before the end would add to the track. Nice eery harmonies with the pads throughout.

Can't really argue about that synth, it is rough and was kinda slapped on and rushed tbh. Thanks for listening and the feedback, much appreciated.

Good production quality. Maybe the mix is a little claustrophobic, no breathing room in there, but I guess maybe you want that in a peak time sort of tune. I have a problem with the melody after the break. Maybe it is just me, but it sounds rather cheesy and kind of reminds me of Mario Kart or like some bouncy Japanese dance pop for some reason. Sorry, just one man's impression...

I do think the sound itself (the one that plays the melody after the break) could turn into something pretty cool with some pitch bend and more reverb, but that would take things in a darker direction than what you are going for. Anyway, I would say you had me for the first half or so here, but kind of lost me after the break.
Thank you!

Oh man, I've so love this track. At the time it came out (2002-ish I believe) I had this one together with a couple of remixes. Really nice remix! I like the flow and everything. Gonna put it in my fav playlist for youtube . Pretty well executed.

Sounding pretty good. You have a nice rhythm going here. Synths are a bit bland to my ears, though. The mix sounds professional.

well i'd prefer you to review a tune i've been retuning because was quite promising but badly executed but if you are kind to give your feedback on this since is my latest stuff... thanks

Sean Tyas - Lift (Rodri Santos Back 2 Trance Mix) Now Free! by Rodri Santos

I really don't know if it has some potential or not because got some radio plays but at the same time zero hype around it so who knows.

Only version on youtube without long intro I found.

I think you gave the track away too quickly when you brought in the lead and the vocal during the intro. As far as trance tech drops go, I think they work better in between two main sections, rather than a first drop.

Six pages and nobody is talking shit. So it can be civil and constructive.

Tasty filtered percs coming in around :30.

Cool pitchy effects in the build and not what I would expect from a big room trance remix, so another point in favor. Nice bringing in the main riff for the first time in the breakdown, too, I would not have guessed this was a "Lift" remix without the label.

Lol, that "come on!" at 4:08...

I think the mid-range sounds a bit crowded once the beat drops. Maybe too much reverb or needs some EQing.

I like the switch-up to a square noise for the main riff at the second break, too.

Guess this is a rip from a radio show, so I won't comment on the mix...

Melody is pretty good. I think I agree with Beatflux, it kind of feels like you "gave it away" by putting the main riff early on. And generally it feels like there is not a whole lot going on here...I mean that it seems like the sounds are really huge to make up for there not being many ideas present. Sorry if that seems a bit harsh; you clearly have talent and if you are getting played on radio shows of fairly popular producers you must be doing something right. I can imagine this going off well at a trance event.

Mix sounds good. I like the descending bassline, gives kind of a wonky feel to the tune. The little vocal snippets as rhythmic elements are also nice. Not a big fan of white noise builds generally, but it definitely feels appropriate to this tune with the quote about static.

Just one more spot left! If anyone else wants a review, step up.

I've enjoyed doing this round, so maybe I will make this a monthly thing or something.

Posted by Sean Walsh on Jan-06-2012 23:09:

Thanks, though I'm not sure what you mean by wonky =P

Posted by Vector A on Jan-06-2012 23:10:

Wonky = "weird" but in a good way.
