it also depends a lot on where you live, ottawa is cheap for some reason...

but since i started driving in '98 i have had 18 moving violations (mainly speeding) and one accident. of the 18 moving violations, i have only been successfully convicted of about 9 of them. I fight everything and i am very good at it. It also helps that most cops are idiots and make obviously biased (and sometimes flat out wrong) statements in their field notes....

I had one cop in particular put down in his field report that my vehicles color was yellow........... yet on the actual ticket it had my vehicles color as red (which was true at the time)

conflicting statement = dismissal

Hahaha, yeah. I know people who have gotten out of tickets because of incorrect information on the ticket. Wrong dates/times/etc.

Aside from those rookie mistakes way back, I've never had any issues. And I mean, those were really fucking stupid things that I did, that I knew I shouldn't have done at the time, that I haven't done since/would never do now.


edit: I got lucky, if that's what you want to call it, with that license suspension. Really, any other person would have been charged with DUI - but all they did was suspend my license for 30 days. I think because I was honest with them and recognized that I knew I wasn't supposed to be driving with any booze in me at that point. Whatever it was, I'm glad all I got was a suspension. I didn't even get fined.

Luckily for me most of my more boneheaded moments fall under the officer was an idiot and filled out paperwork wrong....


however i have successfully gotten myself out of a 40 over ticket on the 401 by showing that it was in fact safe to be driving that fast. sometimes being a engineer has its benefits......

Yeah. My speeding ticket was for 277 bucks, for going almost 140 on the 400. :/

Yeah it's not like I think driving that much over the limit is cool or badass or some lame shit. The speed limit on our big highways is 100km/h - I usually drive between 110-120, about as fast as one can drive without getting nailed with a ticket. Honestly there's no need to go any faster than that anyway. When nobody else is driving that fast it isn't even safe.

People drive like fucking morons here though. They don't use the lanes correctly - and you can tell who doesn't fucking use their mirrors or pay attention to their surroundings.

Mine didn't necessarily go down with a specific age, moreso how long I had a been a customer and/or driver's license. Just my insurance company's way of business. I think that may have actually been 24 when it dropped a little. of course, I was living in Louisiana which has some of the highest rates in the USA anyway.

If you're looking to really drop your rates, just lower your coverage and/or deductable. it's all about risk management. if you think you won't cause an accident and/or you don't think someone will cause one to you; then why spend more money on insurance, you know?

It wasn't until recently that I lowered my deduct's to 500 (used to be 1,000). I also used to just have 50/100 on collision and stuff, not the 100/300.

There is seriously nothing more fucking enraging than trying to use the PASSING lane and some stupid fucking oblivious asshole is in it going 100. Then when you have to pass them in the middle lane, you get a good look at their stupid fucking face as you drive by, and see that they clearly have no goddamn clue what's going on around them. Staring blankly out the windshield as if they have blinders on, playing circus music in their head. Fuck.

And yes, women are horrible fucking drivers. It's always some stupid bitch fucking things up. You know when the highway is being held up 20 some odd cars ahead, and you can SEE the vehicle whose fault it is in the distance that nobody can pass, but when you finally get up close to see who this fucking asshole is - it's some stupid clueless bitch? Yeah.

I don't pay anything right now because I don't have the money for it.

Jesus some of u must live in a 2-traffic light town to have rates so cheap...or you have no clue cause mommy still pays it. I'm just under $1400/year in S Fl for a 2004 Mach 1 Mustang. It would be the same for a 500 SL Mercedes. This is with full coverage and using Progressive.

What is your driving record like?

$1400 a month... You either did something retarded or your car is modded to shit.

Even a car like that I can't imagine it alone, stock is going to draw a $1400 a month premium...

Amount: $800 for 6 months.

I gotta take a defensive class to lower it or just change insurances. Seems pretty high

I got tickets recently:
1. Stop sign lowered to a parking violation
2. Speeding but out of state and paid on time

I'm sure those should not of affected it unless otherwise.
