firt you take a a jump to the left. And then a step to the right.Put your hands on your hips. you bring your knees in tight. But it's the pelvic thrust, That really drives you insane.
that is how you dance the time war.. i mean to trance.

Re: How do you dance in trance event?
It is all a matter of how much room you have to dance. You just have to be prepared for comments like, what are you smoking? and the clearly positive encouragement from others. You must be aware some people expect guys to only hump, hip swaying side to side can be seen a girly.
Anything is possible, but always people must consider the chance of bumping into people, especially at licensed events. Some people will be downright pissed off if you make any sort of contact with them even if they are surrounding you giving you only 1" to move. Accidentally touching a girl meanwhile can be seen as flirting or sexual assault, so one must be careful, for both potential fighting or potential fighting, or having a girl with the wrong message or ending the night early and missing your favourite artist play, or worse yet, less dancing time.
Often it helps to act all crazy with your dancing, this can frighten people a bit to give you some room.
Throwing baby powder around is a real winner when combined with this cause they might think the white powder is a drug and get all concerned and give you even more room. Of course getting baby powder into some venues might be difficult and tossing white powder in some venues might present other issues to your dancing.
Getting glowstick weapons is another sure fire way of getting some space, sometimes people will even put these on 3 foot long strings and propel them to high velocity, clearly indicating them as a colourful yet potentially lethal weapons.
In the end what I find is, often tracks only illicit a gimpy version of the running man, but well other times it makes you feel like flying like super man.
Dancing is often construed to fashionability of dance, the couture and potential inherent meanings being communicated.
Whatever... it really depends what you are going for. In the old days it wouldn't be odd to find someone on the ground convulsing and rowing a boat at the same time, or dressed as gumby.
It is various, the rules are set by bouncers or event security, or those who act such as other people.
Trance is such as diverse genre the range of dancing is various - say psy/goa or ambient, or hardtrance, or hardstyle, or melodic or club.. it is various.. so is the common dancing that one sees.
I'd say two step hump hand motioning is the most prevalent
here is an example of one that works to pickup both guys and girls and or as a territorial marker... it reminds you a bit of african witch doctor dance
PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO JUST BEFORE 1 MINUTE FOR THE KEY just about 52 second mark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMGw8qKx3uk
This is especially useful when security wears black instead of shiny and reflective. If black gloves and nightsticks are involved use discretion.
If hiphop gets played at anytime during the night use extra discretion. Make sure you get circled by onlookers in the club not outside.
There is no right way to do anything culture defines itself.

Most people I've seen in trance clubs either dance really badly or don't dance and sit alone in the corner. The problem is trance music has always attracted a certain sort of social drop out and actually I suspect lots of the people I've met who are in to trance music have forms of autism.
