DT "retired" so he can get more bookings.
He was loosing his loft in NYC, and had other financial problems. He went through all of this in his rant.
And look what happened, he sign a 5 gig deal with Insomniac and is doing better now...
I'll probably just get a Saturday ticket, as I assume Group Therapy will be putting on their shit show on Friday. Tyas b2b Patterson and W&W are worth a single day ticket for me.

I used to get excited about W&W like the rest of you, but a couple of weeks ago I heard a new episode of "Mainstage" and for the first 20-25 minutes I didn't hear a single trance song, all electro-house. :/
Plus I've seen them like 3 times already this year, so they're not going to draw me to a 2-day festival.

as much as i like w&w, the first 3 songs they play are always the same in their livesets. change it up!
i feel the days of artists playing IDs are so few - then again there were never this many set recordings even 2-3 years ago.

instantly falling in love, finally curbing his, ah, "nocturnal activities" at last, and giving him back his respectability in the eyes of many courtiers
I dont know if this is relevent but I stopped listenign to ASOT years ago because 90% of the tracks armin would play weren't even set to release for 6+ months after the episode aired. got old really quick, as someone who likes to download tracks

I agree with the trance going tech house. It is annoying. I loved the hard trance that was once rank1, cosmic gate, etc. But there really isnt much out there at this point that get heavy playtime. W&W are one of the few but yes they have changed their style as most do. If they booked a Classic Cosmic Gate set that would be epic. Enough with their progressive snooze fest + Emma Hewitt. Bring on the hard stuff. Rank1 live was fun. Lets keep up the classic sets.

| Originally posted by Quazar Anyone who went to EDC doesn't really have a need to go to this at all. Gui Boratto was just at Avalon, and Royksopp and Orbital deserve to be seen somewhere they can play longer than 1-1.5 hours. Although for those who weren't able to make it to EDC, it's not bad I suppose. I'll be skipping this and probably going to Escape from Wonderland. |
Time Slots been announced...
Really? Joaquin is playing for only 15 min?

damn... that's fucked up.

Even in recent years, the sounds that seem epic are mainly samples of tracks of yesteryear. Sadly, in all honesty, Cosmic Gate now rides on its old reputation so hard that I don't feel they would be that relevant anymore if they didn't have the past successes. |

Weird. Digweed is listed as playing Saturday from 11PM - 12:30AM but on Digweed's website it says he's playing in Chicago at the Mid on Saturday as well?
I am keeping my fingers crossed that they bring some of the art from Burning Man to Nocturnal this year. I know last year and the year before they had a couple of the really cool art pieces from Burning Man.

I wonder how much is he getting paid for 15 min.
i would guess it is a contractual thing ... i.e. his residency contract says he will make $50,000 and be booked for 10 shows, and 4 of them have to be massives, or something like that. insomniac seems like they've lost interest in using him as an opener lately in favor of cantrelle, brooks, dinaire, etc so maybe they're just running out his contract now that the year is finishing up. just a guess, cause fifteen minutes isn't even worth taking your usb stick out of your pocket.
