Could you list the guises and tracks that he did with this type of project you speak of? Unless the tracks he made with this field sucks, then nevermind don't mention it.

Well, the question is whether he would mention Trance as his taste if he would be a DJ playing mainly Ambient.
I often get the impression people look different at DJ's as DJ's look to themselves. In the Dutch vid Armin says he doesn't want the crowd to see him while the DJ before him is playing as respect for that DJ. "Stars" don't do that, they mostly are convinced they are GOD.
Some ask why he doesn't make ambient, but liking it doesn't need to give the desire to make it. Imagine he would have liked e.g. rock.

because its hard and time consuming. probably more the former than the latter - but that'd be why. He would have to do something outside his formula and that would be daunting.
