all of these tracks have been off the hook... loving it!!!! this thread has been super fun.

my fav's thus far have been scot project (overdrive), exposure magic impulse, and then t-empo... but the rest have been bad ass. what a feeling it would be to be hearing a set and then some of these tunes dropped in... ecstasy.

for me, i think it's worth noting that as i've listened to these tracks, there is a "feeling out period"... or in other words, it's like going on a journey. you have to let the track develop and take you for the ride. i don't purport to be a music aficionado, but i can at least say what i like.

i've always dug this track as well...

and for the record... i enjoy L4C's posts.. that dude drops some great insight into what is being talked about.

there are way too many pseudo edm conneseur types in this thread alone. throwing the word masterpiece based on mere sentimental value means absolutely nothing, becuz almost all tracks mentioned are by even non-edm fan listener standards bland if not just poor.none of these, maybe few r as "5 star", most are bottom shelf, sorry.crystal method menttioned with the word masterpiece discredits ur post lol

trax be technically masterful
unforgettable melody or lyrics
or combination.

these are not masterpieces, might as well rename topic

"omg choonor hot icy stuntaz"

K, then post an EMD-track you consider a "masterpiece".

Posted by tijs_fan on Aug-23-2012 08:26:

ok, and without trying hard to mention tracks that are hardcore just to prove cred:

sashas' xpander for its structure, hard to categorize melody

afterlife - speck of gold super serene vocal/beautiful melody

trancewise....

amoeba assasin- pile driver g.o.s.. mix)

masterp's r a different beast than say..

1. gems/rares
2.classics, although mp's can be a.o.t.a
3. then theres ur "choonor" bin full of shit like anything crystal method if anything they made was good would fall under. or somethin like jase from o. space - blah (max graham remix)

A masterpiece to me is both a track that provides and abundance of goosebumps the first time you listen to it sober
and so many more goosebumps when you only have a DSL connection
a track with infinite replay value
and goosebumps years after you heard it
a track which all your friends like almost as much
despite your sentimental value attachment

dark haunting atmospheres and beautiful melodies are a must
electro tracks (well 99% of them) are not masterpieces
only my friend molly would think so...but only on big speakers

Dang this is one of the first records I ever bought. Gonna go dig this out too.

IMO most tracks which I would call EDM masterpieces are made in the 90's.
