Me < I both do a lot of Yogaish stuff but i will push myself as im lazy naturally (laziest capricorn I've ever met so i'll do stuff like balance on top of swiss balls and do yoga on top of them etc (keep meaning to take a video but im terrified someone will try it at home) And I'm either dancing to trance as my brain just goes intro a trance with it. At first the gym i go to threw a fit about it and i still have to be careful as i cant hurt myself but i know NO ONE else can do this stuff.

All my back, forearms, legs worked out hard. Sadly I need to buy more weights because I cannot physically fit anymore on the bar I have at home. I've not held a gym membership in 2-3 years and I've never been stronger. I'm pretty much at my natural limit though as I struggle with anything much heavier and I don't want to have a diet to take over my life or hit drugs either. I'm relatively strong and eat well though that's mainly because I want to have a long illness free life. Honestly, with dead lifts you just need to make sure you compress the fuck out your core when you lift. You'll be very suprised how heavy you can go. Build it up slowly though, and when you warm up alwasy do 2 or 3 reps of 80% your max just to get a feel of how you are that day. You'll know soon from those tester lifts if you are gonna hit a personal best that day or if you should ease back or maybe even skip that session all together. |

I can see myself lifting a bit more if I had a strap (also I need to work out my core way more cause thats where I feel weakness in terms of lifting style when I dead lift), but damn thats pretty intense for a normal work out. I usually do 115lbsx8x3. |

Squatting is way more fun than dead lifting imo. When I was really into it I used to squat about 315-325 (143-147kg). It's pretty cool seeing an iron bar bend a little bit over your shoulders.
I never worked too hard at dead lifts. Cleans are more effective I think.
I dont like doing squats with out a good cage rack, cause my high school weight lifting coach used to freak us the fuck out over how it'd instantly kill you if the bar went forward over your head... I know thats a bit paranoid, but still.
I do like squats more than dead lifts though.
I do dead lifts as part of a routine, and I do them in the middle, after having worked out my arms. I bet I could lift more if I did them first, I've never tried that.
If you're doing the squats right, the bar shouldn't be able to fall forward onto your neck. A lot of people do hold it at the base of their neck instead of across the back of your shoulders though. If you drop the bar, or if your legs give out, the bar should fall down your back instead of forward onto your neck.

Yeah, cleans can be a bit daunting when you first start out. It's definitely important to begin light until you have the form down perfect.
Do you guys even lift ?
yeah nice one.
I think I gave myself a pinched nerve or something in my right thigh, just below the hip. I can press on it and get a sharp pain there and when I sit in my computer chair (that has these retarded hard plastic edges) it will bump against it.
Not sure how I did that.
Will run on it tomorrow and see if its a hindrance...

Bench press
(dumbbell bench press if it's two separate weights)
You need some fucking animal protein!
Haha, I'm drinking milk in the picture, that's some animal protein right there
I need discipline more than protein, actually. I've been skipping lifting sessions every now and then because of my work/studies, and I kind of like how much upper body looks actually - it's just the belly that's killing me, reason why I'm now riding my bicycle back and forth around the city

Do you eat fish at least? You should really eat fish!
Oh yay, I totally forgot about the old thread + I don't really post much in here anymore, but here we go.
Since I started working in an office last year I've been active about running at least 3 - 4 days a week, and lifting 3 - 4 days as well. I don't really follow any sort of specific routine, and I've tried to do some reading online but the bro-science that seems to envelope a lot of lifting/fitness related material is boring as hell for me. It seems like the general gist is to eat enough, and make sure you're increasing your weight steadily while allowing for appropriate recovery time. I focus on free-weights, deadlifts, squats, etc.
When I run I tend to do about 20 minutes, which I know is pretty minimal, but it seems to work for me. I've been slowly increasing my distance as well, so I'll probably continue to do that.
I finally got an actual gym membership a few weeks ago (had been using my office's crappy gym until now), so I can actually do squats, deadlifts, and benchpress since my last gym was lacking. Mainly, I'm not at all concerned with losing weight (6'1" 188~), but I would like to gain a bit of mass/definition since I'm pretty lanky.

Not even actual fish sticks would count. Gross!
Seriously though, I don't even think they sell fish sticks here in Brazil, I know them from South Park
