i was in Macdougal ST during it. wanted to make sure my sis safety. Well there is no electricity or phone network. and they are saying it might be out until the end of the week. that sucks!

Anyone know which buses are running from city (around time square) to brooklyn?

Bloomberg says MTA may not be running until this weekend or later. If this is true how we supposed to hit the parties up this weekend, specifically Richie Hawtin

The subways are not running but buses are. In any case, you'll prob have to cross bridges on foot. I'd cross queensboro bridge though (since all of lower manhattan is prob a shitshow) and take a bus from Queens to Brooklyn, maybe transfer.

Back to work today after being off Mon and Tues. Kids are still out of school today too. I have power at home fortunately. My neighborhood is a mess with down trees but not much in the way of flooding. Drove to work in Long Island today and there was barely anyone on the road so no traffic.

Even if the parties are still on this weekend I'm strongly considering just staying in until the streets are cleaned properly.

LIRR and Metro North start running at two with limited service. Whoever going from Manhattan to other boroughs, this seems the quickest way.

correct me if i'm wrong but, i don't think there's a foot crossing on the qnsboro. just a bike path, however, given the circumstances, i'm sure there'll be plenty foot traffic

edit: In addition to what Chaska said, if you're coming from Queens..the ONLY LIRR service, which is from Jamaica to Atlantic Terminal Brooklyn (hourly), would be your best option getting to bk (and any party for that matter).

is there list of buses going to brooklyn? i know there is limited number of them but i can't seem to find a link.

There will be buses going to 57th & Lexington from Jay St-Metrotech, Hewes St and Atlantic Terminal stations. I have a bus at the corner that takes me to all 3

Yes most impressive. The downtown services are dead because of lack of power. It's the tunnels that will probably take a long time. There must be at least a few million gallons of water in them.

too much to share in general but i got sad a bit yesterday that people died inside the hospital and other sick ones were forced out of there.
