-- Why don't more DJ's play Marionette?
Pages (3): « 1 2 [3]
Mark's threads certainly bring out the quality in TA.
RIP THEM TO FLAC. RIP THEM ALL.
edit: shit, you even have David Guetta.
Why you have a guetta cd? From that cds maybe LEF and Schulz's are good ones, Armin's 10 years may be good as you'd love to listen to it an extra 10 years later and see the progression but Guetta? If someone gives me that present i'd sell it on ebay... if i ever need a track from that disc for a gig or something i'd happily download it ilegally.
That was actually before he went mainstream. It's just fairly average commercial house circa 2008. And I bought all of these when I was 14/15 so of course it's shit taste

I remember at this club in Sweden when "Love is Gone" was playing, some chick elbowed me in the chest. ****. Over here they play Gagnam style mashups in serious clubs. Romanians are utter fucktards.
I want to hear this in a club:
I'd sell my soul to have a full copy of this:
Tried finding this guy for 3 years.
Svedala is a small village in southern Sweden, where my ex-girlfriend was from. I emailed the label asking about the track, tried finding the guy "Lars" in Svedala, without any luck. Then I find out it actually is (most likely) Eric Prydz.

| Originally posted by Woony As for the musical definition, I'm not shure. As Jack said, the track is somewhat of an oxymoron. It's got minimalistic arrangements and minimalistic sounds from that era but it's a very epic track at the same time. As for minimal techno in general, it's a weird thing to define. One might argue that techno is minimalistic by design and thus the term minimal techno is redundant. I mean, if this track came out today I would probably call it just techno. It's more of a label because that's what it was called around the time it came out. |

Man, I remember J' utterly ripping into that Guetta CD at TC. I heard some of it and though some may argue against, his pop sellout material was far superior that trash.
...I wonder if J' kept it.

Would anyone here actually drop Marionette at peak hour? I'd play that shit at 7am.
Woony, I luv ya and all, but you are pretty wrong often in this thread.
Neo Trance = Border Community, Kompakt, and so on.
Marionette could fit in a "modern techno" set,
Minimal is way more than what was in vogue 6 years ago.
Your age is showing
Daniel Bell? Robert Hood?

borderline. it is not a genre, but an extremely popular buzzword from that era. think of trance without arps.

Yeah, i get that. It's not anywhere near what the mnml of that time was though.
I specifically stated exactly that.
I remember the owner of a local record store talking about "neo-trance" in 2007-2008 when making reference to Kompakt
^^^ For what that's worth.
