Yah, they also took forever to get my vacation pay to me (eventually my dad called them in a professional capacity, which got them to listen haha). Even then they tried to pull some shit like "Oh I guess you want us to release him from his non-compete too huh?" Sorry idiots, when you fire someone in WA non-competes are null and void.
So stupid.
Its funny, I left a pair of really nice sunglasses there the weekend before I got fired. I came in monday, the day they fired me and they were broken in half...
Also, trying to bait me with a "good" reference when other employers call them was pretty funny... None of my performance reviews were recorded, the single disciplinary review I had the week before I got fired wasn't recorded, nor did I sign anything stating what occurred had happened. Every performance review I had I got a raise too, so yah, if they ever try to shit talk to an employer they have a nice libel/slander suit on their hands.
Maybe it's because I'm a blue blooded American, but at-will employment seems perfectly reasonable to me. I think it's really shitty when stuff like this happens, but not being able to fire people because their work is under-par or their position is superfluous is completely ridiculous.

I was just writing in response to the Europeans who are confused by the at-will system. My family has considerable business interests around the globe and we fucking hate working in Europe, even though the family business was founded in the Netherlands, with one of the main reasons being how hard it is to fire people.
Those working conditions, made me think of this guy:

Maybe you take too much pride in your work for a sleezy unorganized office job. Kinda reminds me of the movie Mannequin.
I got fed up with one of my coworkers, she felt entitled to everything yet had no real skill set to deserve anything (she is a paper pusher). Anytime she got any kind of authority, she would abuse it like a pedophile in a daycare.... so i called her a power tripping fascist and started referring to her as mein fuhrer....
She quit.....
I got a raise.....
Its probably because i like sports

Just got a call from my old employer. They were wanting to know what happened to the expired checks that were sitting in the check-drawer for months. I reminded the manager that she told me on Friday to mail them back to corporate for shredding. She then said she wanted to make sure I mailed them since they can't find them and has alerted corporate they are missing and to flag them in case they are cashed. I told her the checks are invalid and can not be cashed anyway. She then said 'well, people do desperate things when they need money'.

I got fired from a job because I sent out sms' with the company's service, and one e-mail where I referred to my boss as Masa, you know black talk for master, but she took it as a abbreviation that would be gramatically incorrect and it would hurt to say, nonetheless she thought i called her "naggy". fuck her, she's fat and short and talks like a retarded farmer.
Edit: also i hadnt told them i had to go be away from work for a litle time to go serve some time, but they didnt use that as an official reason. also maybe some guy may have sent out some mail to all the customers, or maybe i just took too much drugs and imagined it. i think it's funny either way.
