Ive been arguing with a couple of people in this thread about a james holden track they clame is progressive..which isnt. bedrock does not produce progressive music people! go to the trance column in satellite records and you will find a list of several tracks. It lists the artist, the name, record label and also STYLE. EX.acid, deep, house, techno, or prog trance.

First of all, Bedrock ONLY produces Progressive music. 2nd of all its common knowledge that all the classfications on Satellite's site are completely wrong. I just noticed u live in Kansas.

James Holden- Horizons is definately progressive & Phat.
Joshua Ryan- Pistolwhip (James Holden remix)

Flight 643 isn't epic (like every other tiesto production) so we are labeling it progressive. It's boring & it doesn't go anywhere.

Posted by patticus on Apr-25-2001 18:32:

im thinking utopia should stop believe whatever he (she?) reads... companies DO tend to fuck up sometimes
think for yourself

i think we talk about flight 643 waaay too much

Posted by Utopia1278 on Apr-25-2001 18:36:

missouri

ok thats like saying house and hard house is the same..oh by the way kansas city isn't in kansas. its in missouri!and yes people from here have been to TWILO including myself.

DaNNy

I gotta say that you are one of the few ppl who I totally agree with...I can't believe some of the songs listed here as prog...Ayla ? Airscape ?!!! No way is that progressive.

Best Prog tracks I've heard recently :

Sasha - XPander, Belfunk
Svan Vath - Barbarella (Deap Dish Armagedon Remix)
Schiller - Das Glockenspiel (Humate Remix)

Posted by patticus on Apr-25-2001 20:49:

old tracks but yes, very progressive... definitely quality

who said ayla was prog? its about as prog as atb

hahaha. NO! WTF !!! AYLA + NOT PROGRESSIVE ??? NOOO0000000ooooooo...... you cant tell me u can listen to the full 8 mins or whatever of Angelfalls and then tell me it aint progressive ??? phhhhh. Also try that with outburst. And comparing Ayla with ATB ???? DAMN !!!!

Geeze....

Invisible Grin Celeda / Cervin Fisher

Hey I dont know if thay are progressive house or trance but you should consider them.

1> Celeda - The Underground
2> Cervin Fisher - Love You So More

Posted by Paul_Van_Trance on Apr-28-2001 13:15:

in a class of its own..
Sasha - Xpander beats the whole bunch

prog to the limit.

Sasha = genious

Posted by PSi on Apr-28-2001 15:39:

Thumbs up

I think this is progressive...

Aria - Dido (AvB religious mix)

Yeah well i like this one

Posted by luckystrike on Apr-28-2001 17:58:

mine is :
holymen - last universe

Posted by patticus on Apr-29-2001 00:49:

dj nexile, perhaps i exaggerate.
but ayla's not really progressive w/ exception maybe of angelfalls.. ayla (each part), and into the light, etc
are pretty much just uplifting

DjTS... please ... Yeh ok. Well. Ill give u that one. But angelfalls IS the best song ever made. Uh huh... probably.

Posted by breakdown on May-06-2001 11:58:

there IS a kinda progressive remix of angelfalls tho..
i'm not sure exactly which one.. but just not the elemental forces one...

Dude it doesn't matter what length the song is. Angelfalls is a good song but it isn't progressive. Listen to

Sasha - XPander
Sander Klienberg - Sacred
Sven Vath - Barbarella
Musik - Trisco

That's progresive. Just cause Angel falls is 8 mins doesn't make it progressive. Jeez I've heard uplifting tunes that run for 10 mins does that make them progressive ?????!!!

BTW. I agree with u Ayla is better then ATB only cause DJ Tandu produced Velvet which is one of the best uplifting tunes I have heard.

Posted by Dj Furee on May-06-2001 14:29:

Cool

Fuck I keep on trying to post and it says log in and I lose what I wrote

Anyways..

Here's some prog house and trance I like:

Darko - Search (it's kinda tribally, kinda uplifting, love this tune)
Adam Dived - State of Panic
Andy Ling - Fixation (silvio ecomo mix)
Humanmovement - Vidapura
Ticon - Input, Output, Caput
Arcadium - Fade Instinct (graeme mix)
Luigi - Jet Black
Argonout - Going Through
Dragonfyre - Tramp (slut mix) (breakbeaty)
Greed - Strangeworld (blackwatch mix)
Futureshock - The Question

my favourites are still Sven Vath's Barbarella and Fortress's An Angel Saved My Life...

latez...

Smile

You can't go far wrong with Flight 643 for progressive trance.

Posted by mute79 on May-06-2001 16:52:

i think i'd go for Sander Kleinenberg - Observator, its simple, straight to the point and just quality bangin tune!!

Posted by Linx_da_cat on May-06-2001 18:24:

hmm...xpander has got to be one of my favs. actually anythin' by sasha and kleinenberg will do.

Posted by Zapa on May-06-2001 19:18:

hmm... where have ya forgotten these two:

Kosheen - Hide U (John Creamer & Stephan K Mix)

or

Placebo - Passive Aggressive (Brothers In Rhythm Mix)

TOP

Posted by patticus on May-06-2001 21:39:

hahaha kosheen's hide u (orignal or creamer mix) is a GREAT track but not even close to progressive.
and flight 643 isn't prog trance for jack
nice pick on "the question" though.. (prog house)

beautiful prog trance is exemplified on dave seaman's global underground in .. ? i cant remember (south africa methinks) album.
pete lazonby - sacred cycles
way out west - the fall
james holden - horizons (sorry for mentioning)

just to name a few. also futureshock remixes of moby and others... that is TRULY progressive trance

Posted by breakdown on May-06-2001 21:50:

i agree..
dave seaman mixes some of the most melodic and beautiful progressive house ever..
his compilations, sets and productions show all that pretty well

Posted by Kram on May-06-2001 22:18:

Smoking ..umm..something Agree..

Agree that "John Digweed - Groove" is the best! that track is awesome ..

Have you seen the movie also? rule .. !
