Pages (7): « 1 2 [3] 4 5 6 7 »
mm dont remember prolly something by Tiesto
techno is what got me into trance
and ofcourse, trance took its place!
It was actually a compilation for me. Slinky - Planet Moscow.
On it was the likes of:
Tukan - Light A Rainbow
DJ Arabesque (Mariu Piu) - The vision
Maurice - Feeline
Technation - Sea of Change
Medicen Men - Electric Voodoo
Ratty - Sunrise (Here I am)
and also I heard the track:
Chicane Saltwater
Art of Trance - Madagascar
Paul van Dyk - Words (For Love)
Would definitely have to be GOURYELLA - GOURYELLA. The melody in that song KILLED me! After that song I was hooked.
For me it was a album I guess, Clubber's Guide to Ibiza (1998) by Judge Jules which includes tracks like:
Did you hear me (Phase 2 Mix)
Ayla (Original Dj Taucher Mix)
Jack the Groove [Tribal Mix]
Loving You [Untidy Dub]
Fire - Dirty Barry
1998 - Binary Finary
After that album, I fell in love with 9P.M. Sequential One Remix and Urban Train Cosmic Gate Remix
Not really trance but
tracks like
O.T. Quartet - hold that sucker down
Drax - amphetamine
Public enemy - three o three
93-94 brought me into the genre
It was Cor fijneman on slam fm radio (19/04/01) part2 and the first track: Citizen Caned - The Journey GREAT!! It was the first live set that I downloaded.

3
ATB - 9pm
Matt Darey - Liberation (Fly Like an Angel) (Matt Darey mix)
Veracocha - Carte Blanche

I started listening to orbital when I was really young and Halycon on+on(if it can be called trance?) got me into the genre. Then tracks like Binary finary -1999, rank 1 - airwave (dutchforce mix), cygnux - superstrings (rank 1 mix), and every track on the Sasha ibiza disc 2 really got me into to it.
These things converted me to a Trance addict from a general dance music lover
Oakey - Tranceport
Oakey - Live in Space Ibiza - part 1
Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia
AVB - Blue Fear
etc
it was arround 94 when i got my first techno cd.... then i tried some different electronic music genres and trance, schranz and techno is that what im listening to, now!!
Respect to all USA TA, could imagine it is very difficult there to discover trance music.....
the entire Tiesto at Trance Energy 2000 tracklsit
hmmm... I listen to electronic music since I was 7 years old (I'm 19 now), it's hard to remember. Here are some tunes that led me to trance (though some are not real trance):
Robert Miles - Children
Orbital - Halcyon + on + on
Brainbug - Nightmare
Radiotrance - Plasma
Paul Van Dyk - For an Angel
and many many more
ATB - 9PM (Till i come)
Robert Miles - Children
Paul Van Dyk - For an Angel
And then i heard Rank 1 - Airwave, im sorry but that got me right into trance like fuck!!!

songs!!
Ayla - Ayla
Atlantis ITA - I'll see you in the next life
Cosmic Gate - Somewhere Over The Rainbow
Cosmic Gate -Exploration of space
Talla 2XLC - World in My Eyes(Cosmic Gate Remix)
Yakooza - Cocaine
Beam Vs. Cyrus - Thunder in Paradise(Dj Scot Project Remix)
Dumonde - Never Look Back
there are a few more, but those are the ones that stand out most
each and every songs in
dj tiesto - live @ trance energy 2000
particularly
arrakis - the spice
the quest - c sharp
mario piu - serendipity
digital blonde - electra
balearic bill - destination sunshine (dj tiesto power mix)
These tracks I definitely remember:
Yahel and Eyal Barkan - Voyage (DJ Tiesto Magikal Remake Vinyl)
Cosmic Gate - Exploration Of Space
Barthezz - Infected (Promo)
Barthezz - On The Move (Dumonde Remix)
Binary Finary - 1999 (Paul Van Dyk Mix)
Ayla - Ayla

Rising Star - Clear blue moon
To this day, Hypertrophy-Beautiful Day is one of my all time favorites, and one of the first trance "tunes" that I heard.
Emil
Chicane - saltwater (still my favorite of all times)
then gouryella - gouryella

I was gonna' be someone that also said not 1 track really until someone mentioned Binary Finary... and that might be my biggest turning point. I too started with just general electronica and moved eventually to trance, but binary finary alone probably wouldn't have sold me. Love him or hate him (and he has a lot of haters here) You can't deny oakie's influence. If not for his world tour series from Ess. Mix, I'd probably never have really gotten into the trance the way I am now.
well a few years ago it was cool to listen to all those crappy songs that u found on napster when u typed in techno....like the techno remix of the smurfs theme...anyways i actually found some good stuff on there and then when my friend burned me tiesto @ energy 2000 i was hooked
For me it would be either
RMB - Break the Silence or,
PvD - Forbidden Fruit
Both were on the '97 love parade comp. A german exchange student brought this over to the US. I played these 2 tracks on repeat for weeks.
paul van dyk - ministry of sound 12/06/99 live
paul oakenfold - 2 years residents @ cream
gouryella - gouryella
