I fail to have as much (any) faith in piffy than a lot of people here, but I'd still be interested to hear it. Although he already has low marks with me because a) I think he sucks b) He "invented" the remix.

hey jammers....
faye is in texas in tech school, and i en route to san antonio for permanent residence. sorry we didn't get to meet up one last time before i left. good luck with everything you do, though, and maybe see you next year at ultra.

cheers

i just remember hearing p. diddy, back when he was puff daddy or one of his other rediculous names, say that there should be more techno - so he can sample it to make a rap album(bout 7 years ago). dumbass|oh and his productions are only mediocre, he can sell it and make shit for the masses, but id be more interested if pharrell williams and chad hugo were talking about doing this...n.e.r.d. is so much better and interesting than p. puff diddy bite size

Yeah, Wu Tang is true hip hop, with Meth, RZA, GZA, Mastah, but they too are commercialized.
And you can't deny that P Diddy aint a great producer. He has no talent at rapping, but his label is on of the strongest in the commercial hop hop industry today. He gets money because he knows how to produce, and in turn he puts out commercial crap, and he gets money and so on. Ever heard of the entertainment business cycle biatch? It's what keeps major artists, even in electronica going today. They sell on name.
I'll shut my mouth when I see you rolling in bills, and scoring Armani parties every day. But till then, give the people who deserve props, even if you don't like em.
As for you Firestarter, I grew up on hip hop...TRUE HIP HOP. Rakim, Jazzy Jeff, A Tribe Called Quest, PB Wolf, Mos Def, Blackalicious,GM Flash...you name it, I probably have their CD. So yeah, I could safely say that I have heard a few rap songs in my lfe. And for being so serious, I don't get how you don't get mad about bitches blaring out ignorant shit like they did earlier.

damn dawg chill da fuck out...why u got your panties all in a bunch ...everyone is entitled to their opinion...you look like more of a fool trippin da fuck out...just chiiiiiillll

get off this board please..ur language is a disgrace...for instance.

"biatch".."fuck" "bitch"...jeez. U are not only making a fool of urself but u have left a horrible mark on this board with ur pathetic crap and ramblings. Honestly i could give a crap which artists u name about hip hop or if u stilled bboy.I said i bboyed and i know good producers when i see one. I had a problem with u comparing being a brilliant producer and making money. PUFF DADDY is not a good producer and he makes money. There is a difference. Look at wil smith and his antics. He won a grammy for best rap album. HE ROLLS IN MONEY..so is he a great producer??? same with pdiddy. So if darude makes more money on a album than paul van dyk's POD...does that make him a better producer..or if he throws "armani" parties and the good producers arent invited?

So please get a life and get some tape and tape ur mouth because ur annoying alot of people on this board and im sure the mods are looking at u.

With comments like 'will it be as good as airdrawndagger' leaking out of peoples mouths and others saying 'whats up with artists these days'....get a fucking grip, of course it won't be as good - depending on your definition of the very vague and relative term 'good' and it's implications in the subgenre infested electronica community -as airdrawndagger or whatever.
As for Oakenfold doing collaborations, I don't know how educated you are in Oakenfold's DJ past, but he didn't start with dance music. His roots are HIP HOP....TRUE DJing and turntablism, not the stuff you see trance 'DJs' doing these days. Ice Cube happens to be one of the better hip-hop artists around(even though he is a bit commercialized).
I am not a fan P Diddy because of his style and comercialization, although he has yet to sell out and degenerate into the likes of Ludacris, Big Tymers and Cash Money. I will give P diddy the proper respect that he much grately deserves though. P has more talent in music and production right now than most of us will ever have in a few lifetimes. So for y'all bagging on P Diddy and his 'techno' album, do yourself a favor. Here's 10cents and go call someone who fucking cares.

Definately! I feel the same.

Its by Dj Sammy

wtf?

i read the title of the thread and immediately go ... WTF!!!
p diddy doing a techno album? i wonder if he really knows what techno is... anyway whatever he does it will go straight to the bin, not even the bargain bins...

Don't be so negative. At least hes trying to branch out into different genres and experiment and so what if it doesnt turn out to be that good. He must have reasonable knowledge about dance music if hes made a track with Deep Dish and goes to see people like Junior Vasquez

Posted by sly on Mar-20-2003 18:16:

Knowing P Diddy, there's a high probablity that he will rip off some songs...what they will be, i don't know but it better not have anything to do with trance!

Posted by uberclkgtr on Mar-20-2003 18:34:

It amazes me that everyone here has an opinion and nobody (save one or two) have even heard any tracks off this new "techno" album.

I will say if you like trance and only trance, you probably won't like this album. It aint trance. It's nothing like airdrawndagger. If you're familiar with Different Gear and Deep Dish, then you have an idea what a couple of the tracks on this ablum will sound like.

And on the subject of ripping off, how would any electronic music flourish without sampling?

I'm not a big P Diddy fan, but I'm willing to wait until I've heard the album before I pass judgement. From what I've heard so far, I think it's gonna rock.

Posted by cryo on Mar-20-2003 21:30:

Dunno

i dont know, P diddy seems to just sample everything like a lot of hip hop has become.(ja rule ) IMO, Timbaland and the Neptunes make the best beats, and also, J5 and Dilated peoples. but i guess you can give p diddy a lil credit, hes just looking to get more money
we'll see what happens

Posted by DJPrototypeX on Mar-20-2003 22:43:

my old ass topic rose from the dead i see...lol...i havent heard his Deep Dish colabo...might be what he'll be doin...still interested in this album anywayz
