highly overrated movie

I don't know anyone who thinks Independence Day is a great film, but it's an enjoyable and generally well-made blockbuster, with a plot that is only intermittently stupid and a clutch of memorable characters, which is a damn sight more than you can say for its modern equivalents.

Independence Day is like having a shit after being constipated for 2 weeks.

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Oct-09-2013 18:11:

Step aside Roger Ebert.

Debbie Does Dallas, i mean i was completely disappointed, JR Ewing and the rest of the Dallas cast weren't even mentioned in it.....

Perhaps you misunderstood what I meant to say. Having a shit after being constipated is a huge relief. I enjoyed that movie.

And I enjoyed your innovative reviewing technique.

Two weeks... you need more fibre and coffee.

Posted by enydo on Oct-09-2013 19:54:

omg haters Pacific Rim was the shit

Posted by Trance-M on Oct-09-2013 20:07:

Pacific Rim and Independence Day both are awesome, you all just hate professors... (Yeah Data).

Posted by wotyzoid on Oct-09-2013 20:11:

I watched it last night and thought the story was pretty lulz. The Kaiju were dope though.

Sweeney Todd. Burton films while stylistically excellent lack the substance that I need. Musicals very rarely succeed as movies. Didn't care about any of the characters.

The Evil Dead remake. I was pretty surprised that Raimi gave it his stamp of approval. It had none of the campy theatrical amazingness that made the original so good, imo. Just a straight up gore-fest, big whoop.

i'll say that independence day was "memorable"

Posted by srussell0018 on Oct-10-2013 00:08:

The Blum makes any movie good. I swear he has the most memorable lines in like every movie that he's in.

Posted by Lews on Oct-10-2013 01:42:

Oh man, I enjoyed the Evil Dead remake. It was so over the top and ridiculous.

Also, Independence Day is awesome

The yawn-face stopped working a couple of months ago, and now it's been replaced with this, as of last week or something. I hate it

Posted by WittyHandle on Oct-10-2013 02:19:

Pacific Rim was fun in the theater if you weren't kidding yourself into thinking it'd be anything more than great effects.

Posted by WittyHandle on Oct-10-2013 02:20:

I was pretty disappointed in Django. Not terrible, but a letdown for sure.
