Yup, when I downsized my studio a few years ago, I kept my PC3X (88 weighted keys) and my Virus TI2 (61 semi-weighted keys) for the same reason. And, yeah, I definitely prefer using the Virus for drums over the Kurzweil.

And the space bass is obviously for show. Just like my flying v guitar. It is furniture. I have a stingray and an american p bass. And really, bass is well, you DI it. And the difference is the action which is not reality a big deal unless you are wanting.

I would say after classical music, 70s funk is probably my next specialty and well that sort of d train 80s funky shit. Well that was what i was best at until I studied classical so i would say that preceded the nerdy white stuff.

Actually, that's a good point about the fader length; I just looked at a hi-res pic and it seems they've reserved at least 20mmm of the 100mm travel for positive values (above 0dfs). That means only a 80mm throw, which is a little short but still usable.

IMO, that's totally wasted space; I can count on one hand the number of times in a given project that I've needed to go above 0dbfs and even then it's by maybe 3db, and no where near the 15 or so dbfs that they have provisioned for.

I wonder if they'll make it so you can calibrate the 0 point.....

Never been much of a fan of zoom products but this was launched at NAMM and looks interesting...RRP $399

Actually, a lot of people are moaning about interfaces using thunderbolt, saying it's a complete waste of available bandwidth (i.e. even for super low latencies, you're using less than 1/4th of the throughput).

I suppose some do have a point, but I'm not sure I'd want to run my audio interface off a hub or daisychained to a drive etc.
