Sweet surprise! Bias or not doesn't matter...you guys should relax on such polls...Sure it does jack up Tiesto's booking prices now that he's gained world-class recognition. Don't be such tight piss-taking arses and start your own personal suggestions of what the rankings should be...
If you wanna know who genuinely deserves the Sweet #1 Spot. Do a poll here...I am sure we got more than enough PvD fans to go around here...
Nice to be up there...Sasha, Diggers and Tiesto. See what progressive brings you to nowadays......
GO TIESTO
even tho i love tiesto's stuff i don't believe he should be number 1 tho, i thought picotto would be top 10 for sure

As to the questions about Deep Dish, I think I may know why they placed so high. Since they are residents at Club Space in Miami, Space thought they would do something to help themselves out. On several nights if you printed out your voting form from djmag and it had deep dish on it, you got into the club for free. I am curious to see the number of votes for the top 100 b/c a couple nights that I was at Space and they were doing the promotion, about every other person in line had a printed voting form with them. I am sure this helped out a bit with their placement. Being a frequent at Space I don't mind seeing our resident in the top 20, but in reality I don't think they are even close. Gotta give it to Space though, they got what they wanted.

OK SO TIESTO is really #1 according to his own mailing list:
This is a message from the original DJ Tisto mailinglist.
Last night, October 31st, at the DJ Magazine DJ Top 100 award the new annual DJ top 100 of the world was anounced. Tisto was officially elected the number one DJ in the world.
Tisto, who was at number six last year, is the first non British DJ to win this prestigious award. Last year Sasha, Paul van Dijk, Paul Oakenfold, Danny Tenaglia and John Digweed were held in higher regard. Now these gentlemen will have to grant Tisto the honour of being the best DJ in the world for a whole year. Tijs Verwest, as he is known in real life, won several Dutch and international awards, earlier this year. He is currently touring for 5 weeks in the U.S. hitting all the major cities. In Las Vegas he was informed about his number one position and immediately launched into celebrations. He was extremely happy with the result and very surprised, despite all the awards he won this year. Tsto:`This is like my ultimate dream come true, becoming number 1 in DJ Mags top 100!`.
The DJ Mag top 100, which was held for the 8th time, is the worldwide standard from which to measure a DJs popularity. Since 1993, when the Top 100 was first published , it is the list used by promotors, clubowners and organisations to determine who will be the most appreciated artists for their crowds. The reason why it is so highly regarded, is that the list is completely unbiased and compiled entirely from the peoples votes. It is the most respected, valued and feared DJ chart in the world. DJs who have been on the number one spot are Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha and John Digweed. From September 6th untill October 10th the people could vote. DJ Magazine will be available worldwide in stores today.

THIS IS a popularity contest, and it even says it is! so quit your fuckin bitching

That's bullshit, there is not answer to that. It is just a popularity poll. Chris Liebing isn't even in the top 100 and Gielen is? I'm also out of here |

What a load of Bullshit that list is! haha!
I think Tiesto deserved the No. 1 spot ... he IS the most popular DJ rigth now, and that's what this list is all about.
It's results are too UK biased, they should publish the percentages of votes from each country, I'm sure that 60%+ where from the UK.
While it's true that the results are UK biased it's obvious that they are becoming less so each year.
As for Tiesto, you'd have to be blind if you didn't see it coming. His productions charted all over the world, he rocked the States and Ibiza and he's been no. 1 in The DJ List for ages. He worked hard for it and he's way more popular than any other DJ in the world right now.
You may not admire him but you have at least to respect him for that.

WHERE THE HELL IS JAMES HOLDEN??!!
and Misja Helsloot
I voted for both.
and about I not knowing who was Lee Burridge.. there is no clubs here. and my internet connection doesn't allow me to check out all the live sets from all the famous djs in the world. so I stick to trance.
Where the hell is John '00' Flemming
