I didn't know all the stuff about DarkAngel and like JEO said (quoted below), if even half of that is true, I'm going to be very upset.

I actually didn't know anything about the Ted Promo thing and him being involved with DA and his suicide. Back about 11-12 years ago I visited Atlanta for a work trip and intended to meet all the ATL TA's while I was there. Jake Julius and his gf now wife were amazingly gracious and we saw Classixx live, got tacos and played music and got real stoned. No surprise that Austin and Ted both backed out last second with not much of an excuse, being really sketchy about the whole meetup. Perhaps they were worried I'd find the bodies or some shit.

Yeah, sorry. Like Boomer said, it wasn't the MAIN cause but certainly contributed to it. Final straw among a pile of existing troubles. DA made a lot of effort for the people be cared about, and I know he was good friend.

I don't know if he was so much involved as he was just best friends with him.

What are you talking about, Lira? We all know he's been posting nonsense stoned poetry as Ted Promo pretty much continuously for years. There's also a Demoted account from 2009 which posted a few weeks ago: https://tranceaddict.com/forums/sho...52&forumid=8&s=

At the end of the day, we're all aware that Ted Promo has posted racist, transphobic and other nasty shit on TA for years and nobody got particularly up in arms. He was far from the only one, either. But at least just own the fact that as moderators you've let it happen, rather than acting like he's been undercover the whole time.

It was pretty satisfying to learn he was just some ugly, skinny little Smeagol looking kid when another member here sent me his DUI mugshot years ago. Like, of course.

I'm not trying to say he's undercover, but rather that he's got a few alts (hell, we're even talking about a third one) and we have to deal with a Sisyphean wack-a-mole revoking posting privileges of different accounts owned by people whose presence here is unexplainable after so many suspensions.

Also, true, we sometimes we do try to wait it out, and sometimes we really don't remember these people given their insignificance, hoping they'll get tired of being ignored and leave on their own. But, if they step out of line and we remember who they are, we go back to our previously scheduled programming and suspend them pretty much on the spot and often throw away the keys. Of course, nothing prevents them from coming back under a new guise, reason it's often tiring.

Why are you talking about alts as if they are some type of unkillable shape-shifting ethereal being from a different dimension? This is the internet, you can get an anonymous temporary email address and register an account with it in under 30 seconds. Adam had a very distinct grammar and posting style, he even directly references his other alts in his posts. It's nearly impossible to miss. New alt? Ban. Pretty straightforward.

It's one thing to make alts and have no remorse for past trolling. It's another thing to make alts and then start behaving consistently for years after the last ban.

I'm saying it's something inevitable, they keep coming back for whatever reason. We do suspend quite a few people on sight, but occasionally we let a person or two slip and then catch up. Took us a while to remember who he even was, but it's sorted.

didn't he have a huge falling out with mellymel or something? i thought thats who did him dirty? i say this becasue i had him on facebook and he unloaded a bunch of deets and drama in confidence to me ages ago right before his death like a month before. i never posted it to here for obvious reasons

i recall him saying he hated someone on here for what they did to him, that it really fucked him up and it sounds very similar to what you're saying here. ill see if i still have the facebook chat with him, his name was raul or something right?

No. He and Mel were tight. She had nothing to do with the catfish trolling. If they had a falling out I didn't know about it. I hang/have hung with Mel much over the years.
