I spin CDs...).
so the f**kface starts laughing at me!!! he said "yeah right, man! why don't you just admit it? you know I'm better than you"....

I almost beat the crap out of him, but I passed, remembering he's my driver... so I just said "man, you don't have any gear! how can you decide you're ANY good??" so he answers "it's a gift..." yeah right!!
so I said "well, if you're so hot and god gifted, how come they hired me to play there and not you?" then he just giggled out of inconvinience and didn't answer.....

lol..... the best part was, he begged me all the way there that I'll let him mix, and when we got there, he saw the crowd and freaked out! and when I started mixing, he saw he can't compare to me... so he said "wow! I see you have been practicing..." and got out of the booth........

oh dear, what is this world coming to.......

LOL...that's pure jealousy! What kind of a friend is that? I'm glad you handled it well, and didn't freak out or anything! Next time he'll think twice

Hahaha... I can't believe that Tiesto comment. Everyone knows he has always been a CD DJ since the start.

j/k

All very good points.. but those are usually the people who say...

"Errrr teechno.. thats not music, you can put that together in 5 minutes using a computers, its just drum beats and little noise.."

Ummm okkkkk

LOL

I remmeber one time at a party the DJ was late.. like how often does that shit happen? lol so lucky me always carries the tools for satisfaction, popped in a PvD Liveset.. and man.. the people went wild.. lol.... don't yah just love those Kodak moments, then they though i was the DJ because i was behind the CDJ'z, but all i did was press the PLAY button.. lol...

Then the "REAL" DJ came.. thats when i left for home...

Darude - Sandstorm was his opening track.....

Go figure...

Hello!

Well aren't we smart.. lol

Yes i did... what a fucked up $1 jukebox DJ.. come on...

As Tiesto refuses to spin this track.. i refuse to go to a party that plays this crap.. i consider my hearing to be left for the 3l33t sounds of trance... not fucked up cheese like that!

Posted by Acid John on Jan-21-2003 04:52:

yep...arent i captain obvious!

it read like you had already decided to leave once the dj got there, and on the way out u heard him spinnin sandstorm. oh well, my bad.

i agree with you tho. i wont play sandstorm myself, or even bother to listen to a dj that plays it.

i cant think of what he played later if sandstorm was his first track!!!

lol...... next time (which is the 14th of febuary... WOOHOO!!!) I'll get someone else to drive me there.... cause with all due respect, I don't need this crap! I need to focus on not letting anyone bother me do my job as good as I can....
the guy will still be my friend.... but he can forget getting in the DJ booth with me or having anything to do with me as a DJ, till he accepts the fact that he can't mix....

now, this other friend who's driving me to my next gig, he doesn't give a crap about DJing.... he plays guitar and just wants to have fun.... and in that same night, there will be a band he likes playing in that club... so I promised him I'll get him in for free and he'll be in the booth with me as long as the band plays (better view ), and in exchange he'll drive me there...

Posted by HyPeRSoNiC on Jan-21-2003 16:50:

oh! and about the Sandstorm DJ.....
WTF!?!?!?!?!?
I can't believe there are DJ's who still play that crap!
and Adelante!?!?!? even worse!!!! man, that must have been a crappy party...... if I were you man, I would beat the crap out of that DJ and take over the booth, and then put in another PVD set or something and give the crowd something they can actually dance to.....
just a thought.....

Posted by Alccode on Jan-21-2003 21:26:

NOW, if it was the DUMONDE mix of Adelante, it'd be a different story.....

you can say that again...... I mean, SANDSTORM!?!?!?
lol sorry guyz, I'm still in shock..... in clubs here, I'd be surprized to find a DJ playing Sandstorm and not getting booed or kicked out of the booth.........

Posted by Alccode on Jan-22-2003 05:21:

Well, if it's a cheese club or something, what do you expect?

Not everyone is a Trance expert, nor "musically enlightened."

basd and bassaholix:

*gasp*! Blasphemous words!

IMO the Dumonde version of Adelante is very chilling, very very awesome, 1st class Dumonde remix. Maybe you just don't like the Dumonde sound? Or the Adelante sound ... as you said

It's all good, to each his own, I think?

ummmmmmm I hate to break it to you guys but PvD did drop Sandstorm in two sets I have, I think it was @ Home in London and for sure it was in Mayday 2000. Sure it sucks ass NOW but before when it first came out it was a decent track. And about ppl thinking of how "Easy" it is do Dj when I get my decks I will laugh my ass off if my brother tries the same thing. I doubt he will but who knows. He's the type to think that trance is made in 2 seconds because it's electronic. "It's just noize Chris". The thing I don't get is that he listens to eurotrash and "Freestyle" and cheezey shit dance like Stevie B, Joee, M Jay, Sylver etc. I've TRIED to get him to see the light but alas, he's stuck in cheeze whiz land...

Of course

I just don't like the Dumonde sound at all.. Except for their Binary Finary remix maybe.

The way you've described your brother seems to me to be the perfect type of person who would say that DJ'ing is "easy." Especially if he thinks trance is made in 2 seconds because it's electronic!

lol - prepare for it, but don't let it get to ya Just wave him off, and concentrate on practicising.

Oh really? Is that a "yes I like it" maybe, or "hmm if I had to choose one, it would be that one" maybe?

In any case, have you checked out Mind Made Up? Excellent track imo. Original production, too, not a remix!

It's more like "hmm if I had to choose one, it would be that one"

Major reason is because I'm not into that sound though..
