has he played any of these tracks in any livesets that are available?

and why does making a movie soundtrack imply 'selling out', for any dj or musician?

You mean apart from 'Animacion'? Which he played in his Rosenmontagsrave 2002 set. I don't think he played any others, not in the broadcasted sets anyway.

PVD played Animacion when he was in Sydney back in May .. I remember it clearly
Of course back then we all thought it was PVD vs City - Suzann .. whatever happened to the real Suzann?

Also, I hope PVD branches out into some different styles for the soundtrack .. i don't think I could take two hours of the "PVD-Instant-Remix-in-a-can bass and hihats" for a whole movie

Posted by noikeee on Nov-27-2002 12:01:

@ the tracklist.

If I didn't heard Animacion and if I didn't know PvD I would say this is a huge piece of shit.

Just hope he doesn't try to make latin music

Imagine latin trance.. ewwwwwww

jesus! you guys are all about bashing the music before its even out. that makes sense to me.

*sigh* read my post clowns

i said

IF it was TIESTO making a soundtrack people would all over him calling a him sellout.

I then said

"on a serious note, cant wait to hear it, hope its good."

The paul van dyk circle jerk crew needs to calm down i think.

Behold, my arse. susan...

animacion will always be a club killer.... heard paul spin it live in 3 sets and each time he electrified the crowd.

otraDia and BuenaVentura are also solid... of the two i prefer the latter b/c it's very relaxing (like original wavy gravy)...

*foxxy is sexxy -> disclaimer *

Pork!

I suggest you people to watch the PvD documentary again. Those tracks from the movie are pure class!

Selling out? As far as I know the soundtrack is only available in Mexico.

Selling out? PvD produces tons of amazing tracks which never get released.

Selling out? PvD's emotions were running high when he read the script. It's got nothing to do with money, he just put all his energy into something he believes in.

Selling out? Without the internet nobody would ever found out about this project.

Selling out? That director of the movie was amazed by PvD when he was in Mexico a couple of years. He asked PvD, because he thought only PvD could make the right music to the scenes.

Making a soundtrack isn't easy. It takes a lot of effort and musical talent. Why else would there be an Oscar for best music?

good work idiots, maybe read the post?

Arrow Re: latin trance?

I dont think you have to worry about Pvd trying "too hard" to make the soundtrack have a latin flavor along with basslines and high-hats....from the three tracks out of the eleven I've heard from the soundtrack, they sound great....they contain the signature van Dyk sound with some very interesting, mood conjuring beats all embedded within a trancey environment (sorry ...gettin too poetic)

IMHO, PvD continues to break thresholds for electronic music artists without selling out...(such as Oakenfold with Bunka)...

ye I shall be pestering Vandit very soon for this and the DvD

It will be released in the second week of December (in Mexico). All other countries will have to import as I understand.

Jan: very well put!

Civic: I've thought about that myself. Anyway, the tune is awsome, the title really doesn't matter. Oh well, we'll see.
