here is more to chew on:

Shane - Too Late To Turn (AvB Remix)
Airwave - Sunspot (DCLM Mix)
Gouryella - Ligaya (definitely, Airbase rmx sucks too)
Riva - Time Is The Healer (AvB Remix)
Solid Sessions - Janeiro (AvB Remix)
DJ Tiesto - Obsession

I think Southern Sun (Tiesto remx)
and Ferry Corsten - Punk is one of the best releases this year, together with the massive ARMIN - SUNBURN which you also can find my mix on:
here

And the goest to.... Ligaya! It was the most awaited song and it became the most dissapointing. Yes.

Apart from it:

doh! too late to turn was one of my fav's this year. and as for obsession.. well that aint really a 2002 track

for me i will put forward southern sun i guess. I really enjoyed Tiesto's ISOS "unreleased" Mix, but the Tiesto Remix that got a release was proper gash.

My opinion although I'll probably get shouted at...I've been coming here for quite a long time now but rarely post...I use it as more of a reference point for new productions.

Personally I suspect that the reason you first got into trance was due to hearing a "cheeesy track". It seems that as soon as any song is released to the public it becomes known on here as cheesy or crap. Heaven forbid the riff raff get to hear a song! All good tracks should all be locked in a special TA safe somewhere!! I mean, who would think that if you like a track, chances are a lot of others might and that it might possibly have some commercial value thus allowing the DJ to continue producing records and earn an income.

I cannot believe how hypocritical some people on here are. Why is a fantastic tune suddenly crap when it gets a general release?

Im glad someone else agrees with me...

Posted by kr00t0n on Dec-03-2002 19:52:

Heheh, I see a lot of Ligaya bashing, but what I dont get...

It's nothing particularily special, but is by no means utter crap or awful shite... have you even heard some of the tracks released by unknown ppl????

As for dissapointing (as the thread title says), I just found Southern Sun not only not living up to the hype, but just pants in general.
Had it been made by someone else with no hype, I'd still think it bollocks

Posted by Qtip_00 on Dec-03-2002 20:25:

are you crazy. the songs you mentioned are some of the best from 2002. Of course ligaya wasnt the best song by gouryella, but what made it disappointing. Did it get too much hype?

You really do talk a lot of crap. And I notice you have 'Vandit' in your sig. And when PvD's mixes have been as stale as 6 days old shite this year, you can hardly talk about poor productions lol

Posted by DJ-Ande on Dec-03-2002 21:53:

Dancing Dude

also i must hav 2 add

Svenson & Gielen - Answer the Question (All Mix's)

i was expecting loads more and it was basicly boring & poo

I've never actually known anyone to be so wrong trying to "get me" before in my life......
please allow me to try and "get you"
From the sounds of your lame, and blatantly unintelligent long winded posts, you like to think you're smart, perhaps listening to progressive is intertwined with it, hard to say. From what I've learnt from you spelling my name wrong and rambling on like a twat about nothing you can actually back up..and the fact your username is "trancecluber" seems to point out that you like to be different, and if too many people like one thing, you seem to think it loses it's "coolness" and you start liking something else, no matter how boring and repetitive it may be. Now my "lame ass one liners" as you so beatifully put it refer to Yashar (PSi) on this board, who else harps on about prog, but he has the decency to admit to the reasons I've mentioned.....
anyway, you clearly suck elephant cock
don't be bitter

so why u on these boards then, go join some fucking progressive board then & stop complaining 2 us TRANCEADDICTS that epic-trance is shite, without epic trance, trance wouldn't be around, and probaly neither would, progressive

Posted by Vanilla on Dec-03-2002 22:06:

Well I feel the need to defend some songs here.

Ligaya
I first came to tranceaddict around the time when the hype for this was really building. I didnt know what all the fuss was about. I knew of gouryella but was never really moved by the music at that time. Anyways, Ligaya was released and everyone was scrambling to give it a listen. There was such a wide spectrum of reactions, but overall the consensus was that it wasn't the best gouryella tune. Hearing this, I decided to find out what was so great about gouryella that everyone was crying about. Turns out, I find Walhalla and fall in love. Anyway, the song is alright. Remember people it's damn near impossible to constantly put out banging hits.

Svenson and Gielen
I agree that "Answer the Question" was subpar, but to the people who said S&G have put out utter shit this year, I'll just point you towards "Fujirama". It's not the best, but it's not bad.

Armin
I seriously dont see what's wrong with most of the songs that are mentioned. Most of the songs are pretty diffrent, but being at #5 (or something) on this years dj poll shows he must be doing somethings right. And for the amount of time that Armin has been in the studio I'll give him credit for a crap song here and there.
