I think some of you are really missing the point here: you jump down bedrock's throat for pissing on your taste in music, and then you start going on about how shit and boring progressive is? Isn't that a bit hypocritical? If you have a problem with what bedrock says, then don't start flaming him, or making death threats, just tell him why you think he's wrong, in civil, rational terms. I think JayD and vmc have responded in the right way here, look to them as an example. That's how things should be done in this place, and less of the bandwagon "flame the guy who disagrees with us" mentality.

Besides, I think the problem here is not enough of you can see the humour in bedrock's post. I think it's pretty clear that bedrock doesn't particularly like PVD, but some of you need to bone up on your understandings of tongue-in-cheek humour. Bedrock was taking the piss, to use an Australian term, and you took him too seriously. Perhaps bedrock didn't make it clear that he enjoys being contentious, but then he shouldn't have to. If you don't understand the motivation behind a post, then perhaps it's best not to reply to it.

Personally, I think that if bedrock was banned for this, then this site needs to re-order its priorities. If he was banned for being unnecessarily racist, sexist or vulgar - or if he was spamming the forum every day and night - then I could understand it, but I think it's pretty average that he should be banned for calling PvD a weiner and rather bluntly criticizing his productions. People crap on DJ's all the time here - some more than others - but it's certainly no reason to ban them. Who'd be left on this site if we banned everyone who spoke their mind in the same way that bedrock just did?

So I'm with Philby then. To whoever did it, please unban the cynical bastard.

Are you kidding? How can a soundtrack for an indie Mexican film be considered commercial??? It's not like he's doing a Hollywood soundtrack like Oakey has. You probably don't know shit about film, but Mexican cinema is going through a Reinassance right now and this movie will probably own. He's also doing a soundtrack for an Australian film I believe. NOT HOLLYWOOD.

DJ Sammy & Scooter play what they play, they've both been around a while, probably longer than you've been listening to trance... so pfft.

PVD has the honor of having made the only real trance album that's good and released in the US at the same time.

1. I've had enough with these prog elitists

2. I haven't PvD live yet (hope he comes to Toronto soon), so I can't judge his live show (but I hear they are the SHIT!). But, I can judge his productions. I think they are boring and repetitive, at least his newer stuff. I still like Tell Me Why and For An Angel after all these years, but all these reworks and stuff have sucked and made me go to sleep

Have You HEARD the track called Autumn..u sucker !!!!!!! If not go listen to it and post an apology to Paul

PvD isn't a very special producer to me. I'm not saying he sucks. He tunes are too weak most of the time. I like a few tracks of him but the most tracks are shit. So GOD is the wrong word for this medium skilled producer.

u ppl forget that trance is much wider than just uplifting or just progressive (or just anything else) so when people have a different taste in music its a bit like someone who doesnt like meat... dont understand why but hey... each to his/her own
