i believe the eq on most mixers should be used for creative purposes and not trying to make to tune sound better if you know what i mean.
im your mixer sounds crap unless unless you boost the eq. you probably have a shit mixer...like my old newmark one....shit sound quality

You have been miss informed. The quality of newer pressings(white or early numbered Production copies)I agree do sound better. But the difference can only be measured by audio measuring instruments and I really doubt you can tell the diff from press No.1 to press No.500 or even No.1000 maybe on No.10,000 if you had a lucky guess

Records lose a measurable difference after 3 plays. But come on, it takes many more than that for you to notice by ear. Earlier pressings will retain Sound quality more.

You are confused with the pressing records with the Mastering and Production of tunes. If I gave a fully recorded, un-mastered song tracks to two different studio's, of course they would sound different. Which ever Studio had the better equipment and spent more Time with the songs content will win every single time.

i disagree. some people use the cross fader, and some people use the volume faders. it's a matter of personal taste, and style. it's all just volume, it makes no difference how you do it.

sort of. if you are a blatant copier then that is wrong. however, to watch and learn from the pro's is what this is all about, nobody ever got good without taking tips from someone better.

I am not gonna argue about the crossfader.
During a Bass, Mid or treble transition between two songs, I could never feel myself in control without both hands into the EQ's, pre's faders, ect.
I could never imagine giving up the flexability of changing two EQ or Volume settings at once with one hand, and waste it on the crossfader
Now that doesn't even make sense to me!! j/k

Its about alot of flexablity and control I could never get from the cross-fader. I could never figure out why they even put them on Techno-Trance Style boards, you have big 60 or 80mm Faders right in action area of the board.
It wasn't till about a year after I started Wheeling that I heard people actually DO use that cross-fader thing. I had already drawn the conclusion it was only used for screwing around with or for Scratching.
My current mixer has VCF's, those are a Blast to use. If you took the Cross-Fader outta my board, I wouldn't notice for weeks, maybe months it was gone

yeah, you have a Xone eh? anyway, like i said it's a matter of preference. i find it's better with the cross fader, you only have one fader to move instead of two, leaving one hand free for EQ changes, or adjusting the mix if you need to.

The Greener is my buddy and trust me the man knows what he's talking about and i also got a xone just like him.

0 DB should be your MAX output. [/QUOT

Listen to me spin sometime you bitch

If the promoters have the system set up right, you should not be maxing out the EQ's. That's not what they are for. You'll blow his rented shit up and ruin it for everyone. You know what that peanutbutter smell is? Yea, that's your speakers being fried. :/
