This may all seem like the "here and now" to you, but you don't sound like either an engineer or a scientist. Rest assured that before this technology came out, it and the theories behind it were all considered to be useless garbage. While people like you were getting suntanned on boats, people like us were designing the technology you've come to depend on. Every little thing you do - from getting woken up by your alarm clock, to taking your food out of the refrigerator and heating it in your microwave, to listening to the weather report before you leave, to getting in your car or on a bus to wherever you need to go, once upon a time that was all thought to be useless garbage by non-scientists and skeptic scientists alike.

Alchemy and the four humours were all bullshit, but if it wasn't for the alchemists, we'd never have progressed to the stage of modern chemistry of being able to create such notable products as polyester, glowsticks, and MDMA.

Cut it out with the holier-than-thou attitude, it's total crap. Don't act like you're on some higher plane of intelligence than the rest of us and can't dumb it down enough for us to comprehend. If you have nothing to contribute to the discussion, then don't talk. There's no point in writing a response just to say "I'm not going to respond" - all it says is that you're insecure and stubborn and need to have the last word.
