if female vocals are did within reason then they can actually add to the track! but when they just stick lyrics about love (aka fragam tunes) then i they usually waste tracks by putting far too many vocals on but what do i know its only my opinion!

yeh i know what u mean mate, but in fragma its liek the girl is singing a whole song, rather than they being the vocals over the top, if u get what i mean!

Posted by Martin McG on Jan-22-2003 09:28:

thats exactly what i meant ste! i cannot fuckin stick them tunes! theres usually no decent music only the vocals on them type of tracks!

i prefer when its music with vocals "over it" rather tan it being music under the vocals!

Posted by oDrori on Jan-22-2003 13:03:

Actually Fragma could've made nice dubs of "Say That You're Here" and "You Are Alive" , had they given the main melodies more presence.

As for the new Dumonde tune, God Music was good, I wasn't dissapointed. Still, I can't help but wait for a decent rival for Never Look Back...

good news to hear

God Music was an improvement over there earlier stuff, but I still cant stand it.

His terrible basslines as you put it are probably 10x better than urs, and im sure there are 100000000 other people on the face of the earth that prefer it over most of your choices! Come back when u know what u are talking about m8!

blah, I wouldn't go near a club that plays names like Dumonde. Their tracks have no atmosphere to begin with, it wouldn't help the club atmosphere anyways. 100000000 people LOL, sorry there aren't hundreds of millions of people who listen to trance in the first place. I dont know anybody who does personally and could care less, but I'd give them a stern talking to if they recommend crap like Dumonde to me. Bleh, Dumonde

no, I've heard Dumonde tracks before, I never judge a group unless I've heard them. So before you criticize me and say I have no clue what Dumonde sound like, well I do know what Dumonde sound like... crap.

If DuMonde are "crap" I'm very very very excited about what you think is better

well thats lovely, yet again, when you've got a record deal, releasing tracks that get played by the cream of the worlds best DJ's, and they have FOUR tracks in Gatecrashers 100 tracks of all time, compared to your ZERO
when you've got a clue about anything, please share it, love to hear it

wow that's a brilliant argument you've got there... not. I could care less about a record deal, having 4 tracks in Gatecrasher, I would simply be happy producing a tune I like.

I have a mind of my own, and just because someone has tunes on a famous list (gatecrasher's) doesn't mean I have to like them.

*Yawn* pretty much everything.

Although a serious list would include

Astral Projection
PVD
Solar Stone
A Man With No Name
Astrix
Human Blue
Space Cat
Dimension 5

I could go on...

I think I've gone a little off track with the point I was trying to make. Not once in this thread have you said WHY Dumonde are crap, why their basslines are terrible etc....
Instead you've just said they're crap without giving any reason whatsoever, then you say there tracks have no atmosphere.
Which was the point I was trying to make with the Gatecrasher list. That isn't a "famous list" as you put it, it's a list compiled of the people that go to Gatecrasher. Gatecrasher is reknowned for it's atmosphere, and having FOUR Dumonde tunes in a greatest of all time list, compiled by clubbers from a club reknowned to have the best atmosphere on earth indicates to me that Dumondes tunes do in fact have atmosphere. Then again you don't like Dumonde tunes, which is fair enough, people don't, I don't like Yahels stuff, but my point is I don't go into Yahels threads and say his stuff is crap without a reason, then say I've got a right to do it because it's my opinion.
Again Dominik does read the TA forums, and I'm sure he'll be loving this thread (and Dominik I am sorry, but this guys attitude stinks and he's really pissed me off, if I've said anything out of turn, PM me and I'll sort it in future), so why don't you leave some tips on how he can improve the atmosphere in his tunes, and his basslines, hell I'd love to hear it as well
Whats that? oh, you've got no clue........ thought so.....

Their basslines dont have enough energy for me, the kind of energy I could get from an Astral Projection or Dimension 5 track, I dont get from Dumonde. I find their tunes to be too harsh, cold, & abrupt, and not very atmospheric. I also dont care much for their melodies, but that's pretty much sums up why I dont like Dumonde's style.

No, I just chose to ignore it. Atmosphere is an individual taste, I just wouldn't go to a club to see Dumonde based on their work so far. I might for PVD, definitely for Astral Projection, cause they seem to play their own stuff for the most part.

All in all, I'm sure Dominik can take a little heat.

it all becomes clear
I'm still wondering on why you felt the need to post in the first place, oh wait, A.D.D?
Well no offence but you can keep PvD's one bassline, or Astral Projections one note masterpieces ( )
I really think you should think before you post in future, it'll save a lot of hassle

Can't wait to hear this one.

Posted by kr00t0n on Jan-22-2003 21:44:

As energetic basslines go, Dumonde's rank right at the top for me, alongside Flutlicht and Nick Sentience.

*would like to hear your so-called more energetic basslines*
