Ik think everybody 18+ shoulm definitely buy cd's and vinyls, that 18- people abuse the filescharing programs isn't such a big deal, cuz either way, they won't buy any cd's or vinyl (but it does get them hooked)

actually I tend to order from amazon.ca every so often because the HMV near me...is really the only store that offers decent electronic music. But they tend to get stuff like 2-6 weeks late from when it is released. GU024 comes out tomorrow...i'll get it hopefully this week. Then again, if you under the age of clubbing....buy music and go to raves n shit.

directly support the artist not the dj

djs make the money already...but ill buy a good compilation if i like it..usually i just make my own compiltion...that way there isnt that one or two stinker of a song you think ruins a set

I hardly buy Cd's... mostly vinyl... but i will buy cd's if i like them alot or enough. I think the last cd i bought though was Armin's "Transperance" CD. Last album i bought on wax was Push - "From Beyond". But yeah... .ppl should start buying more cd's. If you like an artist enough to download all of their tracks on mp3, then the least you can do is purchase one or more of their albums.

if you want gu024 bad enough..buy it from amazon.ca...you can probably still get it shipped tomorrow if you buy now. 27.99 I bought it for and I know damn well that HMV will have it in probably 6 weeks and sell it for 39.99. I added another cd in my order anyway..technically not worth it if you buy something under 40 bucks..no free shipping :-(. I bought tectronics by Adam Freeland..a bitch to find used...never found it...or in hmv...never seen it.

He does not play all age clubs. Not worth it for the promoters..he has played toronto 3 times in 2 yrs. Koolhaus (4 hr set) Oct 6th.01...I was there....holy shit.....tore the place apart. Koolhaus on december 14th....awful..played 3 hrs 5 mins (supposed to play 4 hrs :-() I was there also. He played area 2 in july I believe....dunno...was not there. If you live in toronto and you are over 16....go to viva...at least you can see some big names.

fuck that...i might buy a mix cd every now and then, but for the cost..it just ridiculous. i support artists by buying their vinyl. charging me 20 bucks for a cd is ridiculous and sometimes they ain't even mixed live. the real sad thing.. is that by the time they put the cd's out..the songs are old and worn out. if labels and producers want to make money..they need to concetrate on putting out good tracks. every week i do a little vinyl shopping and there is always more cheese than good tracks. labels need to concentrate more on dj's because the local dj's are the ones who are bringing people the music on a daily basis. if they are worried about selling cds then they need to get the fuck out the game..cause their are prolly producing shit.

To be honest, I havn't bought a single album in...forever. All these file sharing programs and websites introduced me to the trance music. I have about dozen GU cds, 5 Tiesto albums, 3 Oakenfolds, and about 60 other compalations ranging from Trance Energy to Sensation to Cream. Can't say I'm proud, but there are websites where you just click a button and you can download the entire album for free, which costs about the price of a ticket to SEE the person live at a club.

oh well, enough of me
What are your thoughts?

for the record, I'm buying next Nick Warren's GU album. I guess its a good thing after all. (btw, I'm in Toronto and Trance music isn't exactly something you can easily came by. Preaty much like religion. 95% hate trance, the other 5% LOVE IT!!!!

i buy records of the tunes by artists i like, not CD's, msot cds are jsut mix sets form the dj, which i woudl rather pay to go to a club and see, i dont se ethe point in compilation cd's mixes, so i neither buy nor download.
