Hip Hop is a peoples game, not a mans game, not a black game. Secondly you can only draw 2 comparisions between eminem and vanilla ice. The first is that there both white, and the second is that there both popular. Eminems popularity has grown over multiple albums, and has clearly shown that he has more staying power. And color shouldnt be an issue in any music.

if you don't like eminem, that's fine. but that doesn't mean "he sucks", or "he doesn't deserve jack" .. he's really one of the best lyricists out there, his freestyle's pretty damn good too!
mayb his message doesn't relate with you, but i'm thinkin there are other ppl who think like he does and connects with him and his 'message'.

i think he deserves it. sure there are many great underground artists out there, but eminem has proven himself.

Eminem, well what can I say, I think the Slim Shady LP, was great , after that things got sucky, he does have a talent , if you watch 8 mile you will clearly see it there, I guess he deserves an osscar.

Bah! The Eminem Show is one of the best CD's i ever purchased. Almost every song on there is good or great. IMO songs like When the Music Stops, Sing for the moment, square dance and 'Till I Collapse are easily as good as lose yourself.

his music+lyrics may be inspirational+pioneering but he needs to grow up and stop whining about his shit. seriously. others around the world have had plenty disastrous psyche-bending experiences and still learn to live with it. i understand that his rough childhood is the soul of his anger turned into music which makes it great but its too much. his whole "im too cool" attitude gets bothersome on interview, tvs, etc. he works too hard on his image imho.

i dont mind the whole hip hop culture in him though cause thats where he grew up around

ummm. that seemed very clear to me. If you NOTICE the periods it makes much more sense. he lost respect for the oscars due to the fact that they gave marshall an award.

I can't deny that marshall has SOME talent, being that he is making it in hip hop and some of his colleagues respect him. however he is far from being the best...thats like someone saying Dj sammy ownz trance. so if he did win an oscar it was by default.

This may be true, but among mainstream rap artists eminem fucking owns. Compare him to that no talent hack Jarule?? Eminem has more skill in his pinky finger than fuckin jarule.
For me rap isnt just about lyrics its more about the beats (after all i AM a trance addict), and Eminem tends to have excellent beat selection.
