btw, what model is the stanton mixer??
It's the RM3S. I decided just to save up for the DJM500, but since it's such a huge price cut I'm gonna take this. Hopefully they still have some.
And I make dick money at Target. $8.20/hr, hopefully I can get a promotion here soon, lots of people are leaving. I'm just dropping money now since I don't think they'll have them for long, and don't worry, I'll be cutting it very close this week with bills. I think I'll have...yup, that's right...no money. I got less this week than I normally do, just because I had to leave 2 hours into my shift because of the hangover of the century.
Actually I decided to pass on the mixer. It seems like I'm always buying shit like that, and I made a deal with myself to either buy the best or not buy at all. I know after a little while I'll be unhappy with it, so I'll just save. Probably a better financial decision this week. Plus, I can buy more records too.
haha, now you can get that 3rd earth record...when are you planning on getting the 2nd technic? god i cant wait to own my own set of technics! hopefully by the end of summer i'll have em...all depends on how much i'll be making when i move to denver...
yeah, i got a couple in mind i want, i just can't order em' until saturday.

hopefully i'll get my tech within the month, definitely by the end of may though. and if I get a raise, definitely earlier. bastards make a grand more a month than I do and do less work than me, so I expect something or I'll just slack the fuck off.
slacking off at work is the best...theres this girl at my work who is the only "associate member" thats gets over 30 hours a week. thats unheard of at our store, its plain stupid to me. everyone else is hussling and trying to pick up extra hours to make ends meet and her fat ass is sucking up all the hours!
ummmm me and phaetyl(mason that was at tiesto with us) are gonna try to move towards the end of april or early may.

i've only used tables once in my life at some girls house. she didnt have any damn headphones so mixing was practically an impossibility. except i was merely fucking around slowing one record down even though i couldnt hear the damn thing, then i slowly moved the crossfader to the left and it just so happened that i had the records beatmatched...i couldnt help but laugh at how lucky i was.
btw, are you gonna try to do dj'ing as a profession or is it more of a hobby for you??
Yeah, don't get me started, the most worthless fucks here at Target are getting promoted, our store is ass fuckin backwards and it's only getting worse. DJing=hobby for now, would love to get more serious but I'm going to buy better equipment (I.e. at least one more tech) before I make a serious try. I've got a couple of people who really liked me from the house parties I've played, and a friend and I are going to try and start a mobile dj service, only it will be advertised as ONLY a trance/prog service, and you can requests can kiss my white ass to play ja rule. Kind of a niche business...
how do you end up dj'ing at house parties? are they just at a friends house or something?? after i get my techs and learn to mix well enough i'm gonna try to make a demo cd to carry around with me to clubs that i go to then i'm gonna try to get someone there to listen to the demo cd and i'm gonna ask if i can spin in the early hours of the night or something when theres not a lot of people there, just something to get my foot in the door i guess...and hopefully from there my skills will eventually land me a residencey of some kind. like once a week, shit even once a month would make me happy.
oh yeah, what part of denver do you live in? me and phaetyl would be moving into a place called alexan city center. its in englewood, the cross streets are hampden ave and inca street if you know where that is
They were friends, the first one I played sucked, but the second one was great. There were a couple tools at first jerking around on the floor, but once the ladies came down it rocked. Non stop for about 3 hours, than this other guy came up and asked to spin, had a few jungle records of his own and cleared the floor, and all the girls told me to get back on since he sucked. It was awesome.
Actually I live on the Southwest side of Denver, it would be close to Hampden and Kipling, but more like off c470 and kipling.
Well, I bought the mixer. Couldn't resist, so no records for me this week...

No, the Stanton. It was a good deal for the cash, and I could always sell it for more than I paid for it. I decided to go for the Tascam X9 over anything else, but I won't have $1100 for a long time, and since the RM3S's price was cut so low, it'll do for now. It's a huge improvement over the old mixer anyways. So I'm happy
is the tascam x9 better than the rm3s you were gonna get at first? meh, i need a new job that will allow me to buy the equipment i want
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better. But it also lists for $700 more than the Rm3s, and gc had the rm3s for $150 down from $425, so I bought it.

Nope, I was broke an hour after I got my check on Friday. Can't afford it this week, if somehow it's still around this upcoming Friday I'll pick it up, but otherwise I can't even afford to eat at work...meh.

I have to live with my parents. It sucks, but with how much I'm gettin paid I only have about $200 dollars to spend a month extra after bills, and all of my friends don't want to move out, so I'm screwed. Unless I get a promotion I'll be here awhile...Plus the whole new car payment really sucks, now I'm forced to work.
How'd you get a noise violation ticket? Blasting your music too loud or what? I should have a couple of those by now

haha, no my speakers werent too loud...we had a party at our house and i was so damn drunk that i was probably the first one to walk by the cops, i dont remember i just remember being really pissed and talkin to the cops...dont remember how it started

I'm going to go to Metro for atleast a semester or two just to get back in the swing of things, and then hopefully back to CU Boulder. I just need to get away from my work and meet some new people, get somewhere in my life instead of this same Target bullshit day in day out.
