-- Who will be the next "most-hated" DJ?

I'm sorry, I think some people have gotten the wrong idea about this thread. I don't condone hating DJ's, because I think it's better to spend your energy going nuts over a DJ you like, rather then spending time on forums bashing who you don't like. I made it because I've noticed that there's always one person on the scene that everyone calls a sellout, or "jumps on the bandwagon". I was simply curious as to who might be the next person that everyone flames in the thread. When I said that I thought that Armin would be next, I didn't say it because I dislike Armin, I said it because it seems like there have been a lot of threads lately about how his productions are becoming crappy and how he can't mix, etc.

To be honest, I think anyone who doesn't listen to a DJ because they're "Selling out" is stupid. The quality of a tune is not affected by popularity. If you like it, you like it, and if you don't, you don't. If you are whining and calling a DJ a sell-out because he is playing to the crowd and not just to your own personal tastes, I think you need to get over yourself.

I appologize for straying off topic, I had to get that off my chest.

People saying Tisto sucks nowadays and that he was better back in '99-00 are very near-sighted. Tisto didn't change at all, he's still the same person and he still spins the same way. Only the tunes he plays are different from the ones from 4 years ago and that's just because the whole trance scene has changed. Do you guys really think he still has to play the same tunes as 4 years ago, over and over again?

When you listen to his first CD, back in 1993, his style was much different, when you listen to Magik 1 (1997), it's also different, that's just because the whole trance music evolves. The tunes are different, but his music is still of the same quality as 10 years, 5 years or 2 years ago. When you don't like to hear new tunes, well, just put one of his old cd's in your cd-player and enjoy.

Amen!!!

Pretty much every DJ I listen to now isnt what they were in 99-00. To me, those were the prime years of trance. Oakey and Tiesto ruled the world. I'm just glad to see that oakey is making a come back.

PVD is the man, but if he keeps charging 50 bucks for a show he will feel the wrath of broke TA's everywhere...

This is the smartest comment I have seen on this thread so far.

Absolutly agreed, especially with the second part. I already wondered on which strange directions people come just to get a tread down to bashing. Well, I got the tread you made in the way you described it and I think it has an interesting idea in it, not everybody is able to see.

I never really dislike Tiesto at all but i did get bored with his playlist last year, I mean he hammered some stuff into the ground las summer. Also as you can see by my avatar I never did and will never dislike Oakey, especially since i think he was great last year. Statside was quality, and his sets were good, especialy Creamfields 08/25/02. Concerning Judge Jules I never listen to anything he produces so I cant honor the opinion that a lot of peope have about him, wouldnt be fair. Neways back on subject, if you want to know who will be the next hated dj, itll be the next dj who tries something new. Thats ultimately what happened to Oakey and what happened to Tiesto, I personally think its a shame and a whole lot of bandwagoning, but hey thats people for you.

yet another day is not exactly a tribute to duran duran.

their song ordinary world is what influenced the track, if you listen to the same, you notice quite a few similarities between the two

Well we were refering to his music selection...of course you can't replay the same music for years...People would be tired of all the "Fire and Ice" tunes and etc. Also I am glad you clarified about spinning the same way, because he does and he is still great at it. But about the whole trance scene yes it is true, but he started playing stuff that wasnt too appealing. In other words his song selection started to go downhill. But as you say above "When you don't like to hear new tunes, well, just put one of his old cd's in your cd-player and enjoy" I think we should all learn from your quote

Don't think I am trying to bash anyone, I am here just voicing my opinion

Indeed. I still pop Tranceport and Clubber's Guide to Trance and Bedrock and the classic GU's in my CD player 90% of the time.

Dunno whz realli goin on here, but for me, I respect Judge either AVB and other djs.....They can be famouse becoz they know something i dunno, they work hard better than others, that's how they become top, aren't they.....even if Tiesto spin some cheesy music, whz wrong with that if he know how de way he spin......
