I think we can only suffer one more loss if we're to give a proper run for the title this year. Back to being tied with Chelsea and a solid 5 points clear of Man Utd. This season is going to get ridiculous.

We have a game in hand, so the solid 5 points isn't really that solid

I'm definitely not a glory hunter. If Man United goes down to League 2, I'll still follow them regularly.

As I quote my story of why I support Man United:

quote:
In football he mainly roots for Manchester United (He attended a friendly between Man U and Juventus trying his best not to root or Man U, but Ruud Van Nistelrooy sucked him in)

That was in the summer of 2003. Man United pretty much opened my eyes to the game of football. I learned to love the sport because of the way Man United played that game. I had no idea at that time they won the Premiership title just a few months ago. It was my introduction to club football.

I've spent a lot of time researching online learning what I can about the sport from the songs to the history to the rivalries. I occasionally read message boards like Red and White Cafe and the RAWK. I've gotten to the point where I easily hold my own when talking about the Premiership in general. I've been to a game at Old Trafford, where I sat at the Stretford End. I watch whatever games I can online or in my local football pub in NYC.

So yeah, I'm not a glory hunter. I'm just a sports nut who decided to follow club football

Point not deserved, shouldn't even have been a penalty.

That was never a penalty but to say we didn't deserve a point is ridiculous

Thjat is probably the least informed post I've ever read on the internet.
Firstly, deserved point.

2nd, it was a penalty.

3rd, IF it wasn't, we deserved one from the handball earlier in the game, so it all adds up to deserved point.

Now, go and not watch a game then comment on it somewhere else.

Several fouls were overlooked on both teams. CL refs are absolutely terrible. I agree that we deserved that point, but how was that a foul? I only managed to catch the replay and it didn't really look intentional/malicious enough to warrant a penalty kick.

That maybe but its the only tournament that gives big clubs an opportunity to give budding youngsters and the substitutes a chance to prove themselves and more importantly, maintain match fitness.

But then again, United crashed out at the same stage last season and went on to win the trophies that matter so maybe early knockouts are a good thing.

Moving on, anyone believe that the rumors about Liverpool potentially being liquidated and having to sell their star players to pay of debts are true or is this just a gimmick to find another buyer so that the I-banks (Keith Harris) and the owners can make some quick profit and get out given how the credit crisis is expected to hit clubs hard?

Posted by Philby on Nov-13-2008 03:23:

ouch! that was a pretty average performance, even with a bunch of players rested. hope gomez is alright!

I think everyone would take the League Cup seriously if was named the Milk Cup instead of the Carling Cup

Dossina is a waste of 7 mil. that is all.

Posted by Philby on Nov-15-2008 16:06:

Posted by Ian on Nov-15-2008 16:07:
