so, it's the morning of the show, & i'm still not sure what my plans are. i just had my wisdom teeth out yesterday. aaahaha...what a magical journey that was. i was listening to their album, & by the time world on fire was over, they were done. i've never done e & never will, but i bet that's what it feels like for some you guys. but i bet it was more like acid. words can't even describe it. i EXPERIENCED and FELT trance. seriously. so magical. xD i wanted to listen to "nitrous oxide - amnesia" for t3h l0lz. but i knew that i wouldn't be able to move my fingers & needed to have something to play through for the anticipated 45 mins.

& i'm feeling fine right now. now, i'm just waiting to hear back from my friend or whoever else. i'd go by myself, as i'm great w/ that kinda thing. but exploring a new area whilst being in some mild discomfort/swollen/etc probably isn't the best idea. =P i wouldn't be doing this for anyone else but them. /m\

Well turns out it was last night and I didn't go see above and beyond. It's funny that when I finally have an opportunity like this right in my own town I don't even take advantage. Oh well, I'll see them eventually but timing didn't work out, can't force it.

Infected Mushroom?!!?

Does anyone know if they still play psychedelic? When I listened to their last album, it was quite a bit different from their previous albums.

I really loved BP Empire.

I personally didn't like their live show that much when I saw them two years ago, which was "live" psy trance. I also wasn't so impressed by The Presets in Vancouver 4 nights ago. Similarly in both instances the tunes were just so hard and banging, and "live" part to electronic music doesn't get me that excited. I think I'd rather just be grooving and dancing to a dj set with tunes like that in it, because it was like a mosh pit at a rock concert at the front of the presets.

anyway. i went w/ my friend kota (http://www.youtube.com/user/kodakun). We left around 8, & got there around 10. i can't believe i've never been there before. the scenery alone was worth it!

anyway. the show had SUCH a college party vibe to it; my god. everyone was really cool & what-not but @ the same time, they were all scuffling due to their obvious way over-intoxicated-state. hmm...there was this 1 that lasted through an entire typical 7.5 min track; completely killed the mood. there wasn't really any security there. so, yea. =S but i swear, ALL of the local vacationing youngins in town came out for this show to mosh around; 200 pple, i think. they also wouldn't stop bugging them. holy mother. it was literally christopher lawrence x 1,000,000; every.fckin'.track. there was absolutely no barrier between us & them. there was a bit of a 1 foot'ish-high 1/2 circle platform around the stand up comedy-like stage w/ their stuff on a garage sale-like table. but it came up to my shin, if that. like...pple wouldn't stop asking the boys to take pictures OF THE CROWD for them. o__O jono looked kinda confused & irritated @ times but kept his cool. but paavo didn't seem to mind, as he was spaced out in his immensely cute but still really goofy trance-like state as usual. =P

i met a fellow fan from england, though. but even he was out of it. he was probably the worst of the bunch. aaahaha. i'll try to track him down on their forum, though. =) he said he left his fanboy shirt back in england. dang. =(

the venue was super nice; same w/ the sound! & EVERY.SINGLE.ONE. of the staff had australian accents; same w/ most of the people in the club. it was SO cool. =)

now, onto the most important part:

- about a handful of weird house stuff that i'm surprised they'd play.
- komytea - professional killers (jerome isma-ae & daniel portman remix)
- wippenberg - chakalaka
- i.d. - i.d.
- above & beyond - home (wippenberg remix)
^^ in that order

in this order, i think, but not back to back, obviously:
- oceanlab - breaking ties (that lame duderstadt remix)
- oceanlab - lonely girl (some lame remix)
- oceanlab - on a good day (some lame remix)

- kyau & albert - hide & seek (club mix)
- breakfast - remember
- above & beyond - no one on earth (gabriel & dresden remix)
- above & beyond - alone tonight
^^ there wasn't a whole lot of tracks in between the slow house stuff & the faster trance stuff. just about a handful more to those.

encores:
- madonna - what it feels like for a girl (above & beyond remix) ... i loathe "madge." *pukes*
& then oceanlab - satellite

^^ this is about 2 hrs. so, i guess that means that i remembered most. =O

hmm...if it wasn't for my wisdom teeth, i'd give the night almost a 10/10. but it was brought down to a 5/10 - @ best - due to the mild discomfort/swelling/fatigue/etc. but i confidently stand by my choice & don't regret it @ all. =)

Since this will be taking place on a Friday night, there probably will be a decent sized crowd, but as to their behavior, I can't speak to that.

Neumo's is a 21 & over club, located in the heart of the Capitol Hill neighborhood with lots of bars & other establishments within walking distance. The club has a decent size dance floor. Not as big as Plush, but definitely bigger than Cyber. I haven't been there in ages and the club has changed ownership at least once or twice. Decent sound system from what I remember. Hopefully this link to their venue will help NEUMO'S
