Well they were pretty hard imo, but Fridays @ Lounge are always good so I might try to make it down to this.

i personally found shulz to be bit boring. technasia on the other hand....i would fly to perth to see them again!

I think in armins set one of the IDs could be

Gareth Emery & Jon O'Bir - No Way Back

I seem to remember hearing something that sounded similar during the set. Might be wrong though!

4th TT for me....i went with no expectations and thoroughly enjoyed myself, but only for the fact i was xtremely pumped for armin. Schultzy's last 1/2 hr was impeccable too i might add, loved hearing 'without you near.'

Armin's set was right up my alley, i liked the diversity...and i loved steve may's booty....you go son!!! Being front row centre also helps you to get in the mood, most people who are really up for a party are right up front Luckily i spent most of the evening in gods, as it was the only room with atmosphere....every other room sucked *thinks back to TT04 when renaissance was still in rod laver,* the handbag house needs to go, i mean even the TT mix cd's suck, cause they don't have quinny mixing them anymore!

But yeah....overall i had fun. Was nice leaving at 6:15 too, as it was still a lil' dark when i left, avoiding that whole messy morning look

Posted by jizza on Mar-01-2006 22:30:

lol you get rid of the "handbag house" and you lose half the crowd. then you say byebyes to 2tribes.

ps. what you think mode hookers and whos who are groova? trance?

Posted by phresh on Mar-02-2006 03:40:

what did armin open with for you guys in melb?

up here in brissy i pointed out to him that the bass was really weak & he said he couldent do anything & made it obvious it was the organisers fault for the set up. any SQ problems down there?

i thought the sound in melbourne was loud (to the point where it shook your clothes and unsettled your chest) and CRYSTAL clear. spot on.

Yeah i know, and that's the problem right there.....people used to
predominantly come to TT for wicked progressive, teck and breaks, not any more.....hardware and GU in shoebox arenas, for shame.

mode hookers is on the electro tip IMO....alright tune.

I disagree with that.

It wouldn't matter what music you put in those two mai arenas, they would still be filled at Two Tribes because 90% of the crowd just want to go for a big party.

But it makes sense unfortunately to put House in Rod Raver Arena as it's getting more local support than any of the other genres at the moment.

Posted by PauLie_C on Mar-02-2006 22:34:

gone were the days of rod laver being the renaissance arena

2003 two tribes was a sureal experience, i remember walking into rod laver and seeing about 10,000 people in awe while dave seamen was playing, that is an image that will never leave my memory , damn i wish it was still like that

Posted by charlee on Mar-02-2006 22:36:

I can think of many people I would rather see in Rod Laver than Dave Seamen.

it was more for the fact of the actual atsmosphere, and where this style of music was then, and where it is now

And Junkie XL!! Man, Junkie was great. That was in my early, early days, and I thought he going to play that Elvis track. He didn't, don't think he played anything I knew (cos I didn't know anything!) and it so insanely brilliant!

So I agree with bigbrother; it was all so new and exciting for me back then, when prog was in the main arena. I went purely for the 'event' and not knowing any of the music made it all the more unique and fun.

So yep, ditch the house.
