Thumbs up Beta (3/28)

Checked out Beta Thursday night to see Dragon rock it and the place met my expectations. The sound system is amazing and refreshing to hear these days. Lasers are awesome and set up well. The lighting didn't seem to be on full force last night though. Tried to check out the 2nd room but it was too packed to even get in when I tried. Upstairs lounge is cool and the pics of DJs on the walls are a nice touch. Bars are big and have great service. One thing that probably wont be an issue most nights is the amount of people hanging out in the DJ booth. I was invited up there but it became a free for all later on and Ha was kicking people out frequently. Nice booth though with plenty of room for the DJs.

I think Thursdays are a great night to check the place out with a smaller crowd but still plenty to get the place rockin. Can't wait to see Sander van Doorn there in April.

I'm new to Denver and have only been to Vinyl and the Church once so far. Coming from California, Beta feels very welcoming. I think we're in for an amazing summer with this place and all the other events coming up.

Looking forward to meeting more of you at the Denver clubs and parties and look for me to be in the DJ booth soon.

I guess I'll be meeting you soon then And yes, it was way too crowded up there thursday night but it won't be like that other nights. It was just an exception thursday... Specially when the Beatport guys are up there, you won't see all those little kids there.

Looking forward to meeting you Omega.

On a side note, another thing I like about Beta? You get a ticket stub for the show - not much in the grand scheme of things but it's nice to be able to hang onto things like that. I have all my regular music concert tickets - kinda nice to have the EDM ones as well.

$30 to start isn't too bad - still want to see that lineup though.

I liked Cervantes for Speedy J but yeah, the system in there ain't the best. Reminds me of the duct-taped rave in "Groove".

there is like 0 talent that comes through SLC... Oakenfold, Acosta, Irene, blegh.

p.s. I like boomers format. I think it would be good to seperate by state, and I can keep track of all the UT events if needed.

You should be lucky you even get Oakey...out in Utah? Too hard of laws out there for this scene...shitty!! I feel for ya. probaby have to travel to have a real memorable time.
