I would definitely vote for a british ticket for the presidency, maybe a steven/tony blair ticket.

I wish i could come up. Unfortunately for me i have to study for the bar exam which is the next week.

thats a shame Bro but good luck....

heres a couple to start with...i have hundreds but ive left my wife in the bar...

1..three balls three strikes..

2..you cant get caught out in foul territory..

3..Games can be tied..

4..maximum of three pitchers per game..

Help me figure this bullshit out James...They walk Damon,,to load the bases to face Jeter..Jeter however has the best hitting average with runners in scoring positions in the league...

Fuck it,,we won and apart from the fuck up by Melke we look good...Mo looks solid,,I think Cairo is beginning to look good at first base and we're confident..

just got back from the game... if you're the pirates i guess that's the 'right' baseball play to make, to create a force at home and to setup the double play.. everyone in the stadium knew the game was over once jeter came up tho... good shit

They walked Damon to load the bases so they had a force out at home. If anything was hit over an infielders head a run was most likely going to score. The play would have worked if jeter hit the ball a little bit harder. Not a bad baseball move. Jeter also strikes out alot, so it was really a fundamental move.

1...the problem here is that we see the problem with yankees pitching, the inability to get strikes over the plate. Balls are easier to throw so you get more.

2...interesting idea.

3...that's something we don't like in america, we avoid it at all costs. in fact, we just did away with ties in hockey. We want to know who wins and losses. That's part of the reason soccer isn't popular in the US. a significant portion of the time no team wins.

4....im all for something like this.

I'll add more,

5...don't pitch on intentional walks.

6...no extra padding for batters. I hate when bonds wears the elbow armor. It makes it so he doesn't care if he gets hit.

7...umpires can't throw out players at will. They have too much power to toss out players.

8...on a ground-rule double over the outfield fence, a baserunner gets home. Usually umpires exercise their discretion to keep the runner at third, and we all know that a double usually means a runner will score from first, unless the runner is a catcher or giambi.

Also James i wanna combine the american league and national league...Split all the teams into two divisions,,league one and two...crap teams in one league and good teams in the other..however the good teams in league two can get promoted and the bad teams in league one can get relegated...same shit as football(soccer)....National league rules apply....

cut in half the number of games played...

each team plays every other team in their division an equal amount of times....

the bottom two teams at the end of the season get relegated to the minor leagues...and the best two minor league teams get promoted to the majors...

In reality we do have different level of leagues. The only thing is that they don't compete with each other: A, AA, AAA, and the majors.

As for every team playing each other (across the current AL-NL boundries), i'm in full agreement with that. However, i like the fact that each division (in its current form) plays others in their division more, it keeps the rivalries going. No matter what, the yankees should play boston more than they play the angels or the royals (although they wouldn't be in the majors under your system).

I also think we should do away with the DH. It makes the strategy of the manager so much more important when the pitcher bats.

yes but there is no way that an A,AA,AAA team can advance to a higher level of play...

it would be interesting to have that type of system. So even if your team sucked, there would still be some excitement for the team because they could dominate the lower level. But it would suck again when the team moved back up into the better division.

but how would a team in a lower division team get top talent on a free agent market??? I can't see a top player signing with a team in the lower division. That would work to entrench the teams in the division and provide little team movement from one division to another. I guess the only way out would be through good scouting and internal development.

the same way as it works in football( you call it soccer ),,the ability to spot talent at an early age and also to utilize players coming to the end of their careers..

David Beckham playing in LA is superb example

the yankees are the best at utilizing players coming to the end of their careers, oh yeah, and grossly overpaying them too.

i wonder what that's going to do for the MLS. I don't think it will have much of an impact on soccer's popularity in the US, but it may have some financial ramifications for the galaxy specifically, whether positive or negative (because of the ridiculously overvalued amount of his contract).

James...watch the sox game on now if you want a laugh...ortiz is at first base and it is almost comical.....

that would be cool. i can't find anywhere in jersey that sells authentic national team jerseys, and i don't trust buying clothes online.

thanks.

probably large. is there an american's-like-their-clothes-very-loose-fit factor for sizes? if that's the case then maybe XL. hopefully the dollar can recover a bit against the pound prior to its arrival.

I could not agree with you more on these two, especially the second one. Not only do batters not care if they get hit, they crowd the box and make it next to impossible for the pitcher to work the inside part of the plate, to say nothing of eliminating the brush back pitch (critical to utilizing the outer half of the plate). Hitters are allowed to shorten their strike zone and play to their strengths when they wear armor - it's simply an unfair advantage.
