Works nice with a dedicated filter on each source!
I don't use my turntables that much anymore since i've got a second CDJ. In the near future i want to get a decent active monitor set and some new (nicer) furniture.
The second turntable is connected to the PC with it's digital out for digitalising my vinyl (lot's of work)

Nice mixer from back when vestax was made in japan. They don't make them anymore.

Since you are probably the only person here with that mixer...
Hpw does that mixer really sound?
Do you have the valve option installed?

Thanks!

Ah, I should get around to finally taking and posting pictures of my own.

Posted by wesleysnipez on Sep-12-2007 08:59:

Here is set my up but it is missing a few items 1 Pioneer CDJ1000 Mk3 & my ALESIS M1 Active 520 speakers not in the picture. Currently junking that mixer since I have on order is a Korg Zero8 DJ Midi Mixer and another Pioneer CDJ1000 Mk3. Since currently live in a apartment. Since about to move to new house with my wife. Then I can move it into a custom sound proof room I did myself because of the neighbors in that area are one who will call the law easy if it is to loud lol. Best part of it all no more storage unit for my 1201 vinyls and my mobile sound and lighting DJ equipment lol.

I'm going keep the 800 since going build another set off that to and put in the same room on other wall opposite of the Korg zero 8 so I can use both since me and other DJ at club been doing 1 tune together at end of my mix and start of his. Doing this will make use better when we practice together. Plus at same time going put all vinyls in the same room and my 1753 CD collection. Since thats just half of my collection since rest is at club in storage room that just off the DJ both.

Later tonight if I can find dam digital camera I go to house and take a picture of the room since I just have the door to sound proof and put in intercom system and on air light on left side of the door. Since there times I'm to busy grooving and the wife has to tap me on the shoulder to get me to dinner. So if I put in intercom system then she won't have to tap me on the shoulder any more if she need me for anything. Then at the same time I have 2 kids and if I put in a on air sign light then they will know not to bug daddy when he is in the shop lol. Soon as my room is done then I can move in since still waiting on bank to clear the extra down payment I added to it after the fact. Since I just finsihed doing last wall in there with a construction buddy of mine today before I had head home and be on the phone most of afternoon talking with computer tech support over issues on my gaming rig.

As promised nerdgrl416 here is photos of new studio with out all the gear in it and all. Just about done have cut in intercom system and put in on air studio light outside the room then get the gear rack then I'm set.

This is what I did put this on the 2 layered plywood floor for the studio Liquid SoundBlocker from GK Acoustics then QUIET BARRIER™ from soundprofffoam.com before I put down the wood floor.

For the walls and ceiling used SoundBlocker1™ Non-reinforced from GK Acoustics before I put up the wall paneling and ceiling. For the rooms next to studio and outside used Liquid SoundBlocker GK Acoustics to help out.

We did sound test today with one our club backup monitor speakers from Martin Entertainment for the test playing the ZAF zone mix, Tiesto/BT break my fall and Red carpet Allright(rmx). After the test me and clubs sound engineer was happy with sound. To bad Martin Entertainment don't make speakers any more just lights now.

Here is the photos as promised

will you just be DJing in there? Or producing as well?

Posted by miamitranceman on Sep-13-2007 19:50:

Wow. Nice one dude.

Posted by wesleysnipez on Sep-14-2007 03:45:

Little of both and all I hope in that new studio since in my old apartment I never got into producing because of the neighbors always complaining it is to loud so I limited my playing time. But soon as get it finished I will surely try and produce stuff then it will up my hype in the club I work at as a DJ/Co-Owner. If it wasn't for my wife I be doing it in bedroom but she and neighbors around my new house convinced me make that room lol. Then after that Me,Wife,a friend who is construction contractor/architect and our hired out sound engineer for the club came up with this look. The wood look was my wife idea and when it passed sound engineer ok we where set to design it and now it is about finished the whole project. I can't wait to set up my rig in there to jam and produce stuff.

I will admit though that your studio is pretty banging.

That sound proof room looks MINT! TOP JOB :-D

Posted by vman83 on Sep-14-2007 11:13:

my setup at my place... im building a room dedicated to music basically because i have a spare bedroom. Eventually i will remove a window, and sound proof the entire room, and move in my pc and keyboard as well.. this stuff is all currently in my living room, and lacks the proper lighting and wall murals im after... more to come in the future

The hardware is all mounted inside a desk that I have made by hand. The cables are all hidden inside and i have a power board mounted in the back so i really only have audio outputs and one power supply exposed at the back. I still have to work out some cable management system for the cdj's.

Sporting 2 x Pioneer CDJ800Mk2's, Pioneer DJM600, 2 x Technics 1210's loaded with Ortofon Concordes. Speakers arent too great, Behringer Truth monitors and matching Behringer Truth Sub. It all plays rather nice and inside the house is loud enough to rattle windows

Hope to upgrade to a DJM800 or Xone62 in the future.
