That looks like fun indeed! Did you spend a lot of time on it?

However, I'd rather have something I am allowed to drive on the streets as well

Not anywhere near the kind of time the senior engineering students put in. This car sucks up 1000's of man hours... Think about just designing, CAD'ing, jigging, welding and testing the frame (must be done from scratch each year)... and that's one of the easier subsystems. Trying to balance finals with tuning and programming engine mappings gets tricky...

Impressive. That's what you get when you want to design the whole thing from scratch I suppose..

Damn, just thinking about this makes me want to buy a kit right away.. Damn you lack of money, time and space.

two things.... sure there is a huge price difference, but also they veryron is stock. the viper isnt, in sure they could bitch slap what the veyron is packing and give it another 200hp :P and it would whoop the vipers ass.

that's a hennessey venom, not quite a viper, it's built off a viper, like RUF and porsche

^^ That yellow F40 is hot.

I think they look more badass in black though:

The wheels aren't what I would choose though. The ones on the yellow car with the gold inset would look better.

That is a Ferrari F40 LM. It only comes in two standard colors (yellow and red). Too bad eh?

Ahh, good eye on spotting the yellow LM!! Too bad it was never really allowed to race in anger.

My dream has always been to find one of these, a basic 80 Quattro 1992-1995 with a 2.2 230hp 5 cyl. Turbo. I have never even seen one, but officially they exist.

^^ That's just the same chassis, not the exact model, couldn't even find a pic for it

^ You could build one easy enough. Just find a wrecked S2 and take the motor. Surely there are enough used S2 motors around at this point that they'd be cheap enough to find. It will bolt to the 80 or 90 quattro driveline without any hassles.

Exactly, the one I'm looking for has the same engine as the latter S2, with an extra 10hp. And mine has 4 doors instead of 2.

You could also harvest the motor from a later S4 / RS4 since when the S4 first came out in the oldest body style, they still used the mighty 5 cylinder lump

Oh, and be sure to put an atmosperic bypass on the intake so that it can breathe normally until boost starts to build. Otherwise, it's a very laggy motor.

hehehe I know, I know.

I'm just missing turning wrenches on my own cars. It's been two and a half years since I sold mine before moving over here from Montreal and I'm starting to have the itch to get a toy car again. The bonus is that over here there's more cool old shit to choose from
