Throw Iverson in that list and we got a deal

If you think Kobe Bryant deserves to be ranked (which is stupid anyways) above any of those players, you're an idiot. |
John Havlicek has 8 rings if you want to bring championships into the argument.

Suck it.

Fuck, "Greatest of all time" arguments are irrelevant when it comes to a point where you're comparing athleticism. Lebron James could probably put the hurt on most of the players that srussell listed, but he's not considered top 10. Being an incredible athlete has nothing to do with being the greatest. You need championships and a reputation before you're considered the greatest. This argument is fucking stupid.

I'll keep burning up your straw men as many times as you post them. No, Babe Ruth would not be relevant today, but if you think numbers 5-10 on the all time home run list, and Barry Bonds, are or were better players than Babe Ruth, then you clearly know absolutely nothing about baseball. He also had a career ERA of 2.28 in over 100 starts as a pitcher too. You should probably stop talking now. |

| Originally posted by The17sss Yeah, clearly I know nothing about baseball because I said Babe Ruth would be irrelevant today. And clearly I'm a fucking idiot who needs to stop talking because I had the gall to compare Kobe with Jordan |

I don't have an anger problem, I just have no tolerance for pricks who think they can talk down to me based on opinion rather than fact. You're a poor judge of one's character if you want to base your assessment of me on TA conversations. You honestly think the real me wishes Nou would commit suicide? Really? Let's ask the collective around here what they think of you. I wonder- would you think they were accurate in their analysis of you based on your TA persona? |

Maybe you should take a look in a mirror buddy. And now that I think about it, yes, I think you have an anger problem. I think you have an anger problem because you throw little hissy fits when someone 10 years your younger calls you out for making stupid comparisons and straw man tactics to try to "prove" something that cannot be proven. You attack someones character to try and prove them wrong. You get personal with almost every argument that you enter. Either you have an anger problem and aren't willing to admit it, or you're just hyper-sensitive to anybody disagreeing with you. |

| I don't really know what your issues are, and I don't really care, but do you ever wonder why the arguments that you get into on TA are so heated? You take it there. You're the catalyst. So I've said my peace, and I'm sure you're constructing the ultimate retort right now to try and attack me (as is your style) so if that comes, thank you for proving my point, and if it doesn't, then I'm glad you were able to control your problems for once. |
Stockton greater than Kobe? WOW...
Whatever...haters gonna hate. They'll pull any stupid shit argument out to discredit a great player.
The reason why Shaq got MVP throughout the first 3-peat is pretty fucking obvious. Look at his numbers. He was in his prime. Kobe was still coming into his own. But having said that: with the game on the line who handled the ball? Fucking Kobe.
Great players are defined by how they match up against their peers...how is there any argument against that? Of course players have more athleticism now than those that came before them - over time it's become embedded in the game. The game is constantly evolving. How great players are defined is not.
I think Kobe is a top 10 players in the history of the game, at this point. Top 5? No. He's not better than Jordan, Chamberlain, Magic, Kareem, or Bird...I think those would be tough to argue - but he's a leader, he's a winner, and he's a great player. Maybe he isn't as pure a player as those others mentioned, but he's raw and he brings that assassins mentality to the game....
Dallas is going to win this series.
my god this is great
ya, westbrook can suck a dick
you know...i've been a fan of westbrook for the past 2 years - i've had him on all my fantasy teams, but watching him through the playoffs here it feels like his numbers are going to his head. let durant close the games out man... for fucks sake, please. when he drove there i was begging him to kick it out. obviously wasn't going to happen

This picture from SI.com is great

And has any of you noticed Perkins presence in the series? That trade didn't really work out neither for Boston or for OKC it seems.
