I hear they ma be in for our keeper artur boruc come the end of the season.

Also what is the deal with adebayour and henry? why do they always insist on celebrating with each other, are they bent or something?

Posted by noikeee on Jan-22-2007 13:15:

i feel a bit for Van Der Sar. he used to be a great keeper, now he's fairly old he gets all the slack. admittedly he isn't good enough for Man Utd anymore.

Posted by The_G0dfather on Jan-22-2007 14:51:

Van der Sar is still good enough.

Posted by zoric on Jan-22-2007 14:57:

It's always hard to be a goalkeeper and I believe van der Sar will have to prove himself during the rest of this season.

Fuck off They're back again

lol does Park actually play right-midfield or is he just some random full-field sweeper???

Watching the Portsmouth game, he was all over the place!

You have to admire his hustle, but I would have thought Fergusson would have drilled positional play into his head by now.

Sublime chip from Wazza tonight for the second goal, and Larsson's volley was top-drawer too.

The linesman had a nightmare!

Another incident perhaps backing the case for video replays?

He can play all 3 midfield positions.

Watching him and Lee Chun Soo for Korean national team is hilarious. Park all over the place on the right, Lee on the left.

That's just his game though. Be a pest and chase down ball everywhere.

Though that's little comfort to Neville on rightback.

So would Larsson stay any longer in MU after his 3 months term of lease ends?

Posted by Benshin on Feb-23-2007 02:00:

Park Ji Sung is called three-lung park by his Man U teamates. He sure has a lot of stamina for a flat footed player

Well, that's pretty much the style of South Korean players. They run their asses off. Park more than others, to make up for lack of technical skills.

It was funny watching Spanish team pretty much collapse on the field after extra time shootout vs South Korea in WC02 while the South Korean team is still standing.

And Man U scum gets away with another one. Lille's complaint about improperly taken freekick is rejected.

Exactly what is the ruling on that? It seems that it's at ref's discretion whether the whistle to be blown first before the kick.

Posted by liverpoolken on Feb-23-2007 18:51:

jammy fuckin bastards. ref's got it wrong.

Posted by raveed on Feb-23-2007 21:29:

thats complete bullshit ... that free kick was perfectly legitimate .. rules state that a player can take an early freekick if he informs the referee about it and in the process he forfeits any chances of a retake incase of an obstruction by the opposition

henry did it against chelsea a couple of seasons ago and giggs did it against lille .. and their reaction to the goal was so french ... wtf do they mean in france that is how we protest .. that was disgraceful and with the case about the stadium violation in the works , i hope they get kicked out of the compeition although they they dont need to worry about that since theyl be eliminated long before the hearing when they visit OT ..

Must be a very little used rule b/c I've seen attacking team be forced to retake freekicks b/c they didn't wait for the ref's whistle.

it is .. but ur supposed to tell the referee before you take the kick that you will be taking it before the whistle.. and UEFA today backed the legitimacy of the goal and threw out lille's appeal to replay the game

notice (in the replays) that giggs was indeed saying something to the referee before taking the kick

Posted by liverpoolken on Feb-25-2007 21:50:

the vast majority of the time referees do not allow quick free kicks to be taken around the area. everyone knows that. by the letter of the law he may have gotten it right, but by the standards established game-to-game during actual play he has got it dead wrong. you know that it's rarely allowed. yeah henry did it but the instances where teams have tried to take it quickly and been told not to by the ref far outnumber the rare instances when it's been allowed. you lot were very fortuitous to get that goal. i have no problem with quick free quicks as that is allowed for by the rules, but why do refs only allow this to happen once every few months? it's an inconsistency which has gifted you jammy lot a goal.

exactly its up to the ref and this time he said to giggs he can take it quick and he did there was no luck about it and uefa agreed they threw lille's appeal out cause they clearly didnt have a case.
Most teams when there is a free kick stand someone over the ball so the opposition cant take it lille didnt do this they were to busy fannying around with their wall and were punished i felt sorry for them but that goal was perfectly legit.

Posted by Saka on Feb-26-2007 19:59:

Yeah, none of it is Man U's fault, the referee did a terrible job. And the referee should think about both teams, and a re-take would have been a much more logical decision.

Posted by Cloud on Feb-26-2007 20:55:

It's a legit goal, shut the fuck up.

yea ... we got 2 liverpool fans supporting the goal's legitimacy .. that should be more than enough to convince anyone who doubt's the goal was incorrect
