If it happens, I don't know if Real Madrid fans can handle Franck Ribery's sexiness on the pitch. It'd be too much.

Yes, those shirts, specially with the logo that says "Best Club of the World in the 20th century"... the side logo only for the teams with 4+ Champions League won...

You are right, "those shirts" only for winners.

You either got no taste at all or admit that those are some of the ugliest madrid shirts over the last years.

And i'll say it again, thank the dictator for a big part of those 20th century trophees.

Bara won more titles than Madrid during the period from post-Civil War to the late 50s.

After the arrival of Di Stefano to Madrid, the amounts of Ligas and European Cups (tournament impulsed strongly by Santiago Bernabeu) started to come, and the 'European reign' had nothing to do with Franco presence (whose dictatorship, cause of Spain's isolation at international political context, didn't helped Madrid in Europe, obviously).

Posted by The_G0dfather on Jan-04-2007 20:54:

Well it werent exactly prosperous times for separatist regions like catalua (and thus bara) either. And its not like francos regime ended in the late fifties. Anyway, i'm by no means an expert but it's what i heard ad read here and there.

And it never hurts to insult Franco from time to time.

Franco persecuted the Catalan and Basque languages/culture, that's a fact. But in football context, Bara was big in Spain and Europe, in the 50s (Kubala & co), in the 60s (even when R.Madrid was the good image of the nation outside Spain, but when Kubala left, Bara wasn't as strong as it was), and again strong during the 70s (arrival of Cruijff & co).

Prosperity... the loses were huge in all Spain, after the war (till the 60s, after the 'Decenio Bisagra' era), not only in 'separatist' regions.

Otherwise, Euskadi and Catalunya always have been two economic, industrial, etc. powerhouses in Spain.
