so i'm in my office working with the door open when a co-worker who's in the next office decides to come and chat with me. he starts talking and while he's doing this he begins scratching one of his arms. after about a minute i realize that the skin on his arm was dry and peeling and with every scratch hundreds of skin flakes were flying all over my room. the guy keeps talking and scratching and i decide to kind of back away a bit since he's right in front of me. he realizes and says, "oh, sorry... i'm peeling". then he goes back to whatever he was saying and starts scratching the other arm and the flakes begin to fly once more. i give him this look like "wtf dude!!" but he's too into whatever he's telling me to notice. he finally left after another minute or so of the minature snow storm. now i've got skin flakes all over my clothes.

and yeah, i'm wearing all black today.

At least it wasnt dandruff flying off his head as he walks LOL but seriously you are surrounded by dust and dust is partially made up of dead skin particles so its unavoidable.

Omg ewww that IS disgusting, poor u. Its like yea dust but scratching ur arm while talking to a coworker? Iono I don't find thay very considerate/aware but then again it itches I guess? Well at least he caught himself but then seemed to forget once again!!! Hrms sooo not cool.

Then again I guess it cannot be helped sometimes...but damns, I'm sure SOMEONE had lotion at their cubicle right?

I'm here at work today (my first tentative day), and so far my computer/email and phone have not been set up yet, and may not be until Thursday at the latest. So I'm basically here on my BB, chilling while trying to read up on procedures.

I'm SOOO tired today - slept at 11pm last night but I think the weekend totally wore me out. . Looking out the window and seeing the treelined footpath and sunny skies def makes me in a good mood tho. Just trying not to fall asleep...

I'm at a company called MMC/Marsh & McLennan in Hoboken...I'm here on contract until at least December

Things are somewhat tentative right now cuz I just sent in my background info to the temp agency, and I also have to announce my leave from a prev temp job I was working at.

I'm told its a really good company so I might as well STAY as long as I can and see what happens...they have offices in NYC also, so an eventual transfer is def not out of the question...

So yeah, bored rite now but about to go to lunch, weee

Hoboken, damn how long does your commute take? Do you like it there? Well I guess it is a lil change of pace from the city, at least you can transfer later tho so that's good.

oh actually its about 40ish minutes from 74th street. Believe me, a commute to downtown Manhattan takes even LONGER from where i am, not to mention having to navigate the subways ughs. Now...its the first 20 minutes crowded, the latter half I get a seat and a calm ride...not to mention the sight of a gorgeous/noncrowded walk thru a cute town when I come out of the PATH station.

it is a change, and a good one at that. i so need that now...the building is right by the waterfront...there is also a huge park/bike path/treelined walk that goes along the Hudson on my side.

i feel like ASS today even tho i tried to sleep well, i had to stay home today . i felt so bad, i left a vmail AND email to the person who is training me...she was really understanding. but damns my SECOND day!!! =(

even my throat is stuffed i dunno why it almost feels like a food allergy but im not KNOWN to be allergic to any sort of foods...

Wow, the place and its surroundings sound awesome! oooh calling sick on the second day is really not good but at least they sounded understanding, most places would not be at all. We have had temps here get fired over that LOL but my department is the type of place that desperately needs to be staffed at all times so being in everyday is pretty crucial to the overall workflow.

Did you eat anything new recently around the new area where you are working? That might be it, or you can always go to the doctor and they can run a series of tests to determine the allergy. It is probably best you stayed home today anyway with the heat and the bad air quality today.

yes the Hoboken waterfront is very pretty and serene. lots of new developments around...

in terms of food, i really don't know. Yesterday I had a pastrami/cole slaw sandwich with split pea soup from their cafeteria but it tasted fine to me.

i told the lady I would touch base later today to let her know if I would be coming in tomorrow. A resounding yes no doubt, no matter how im feeling. I am sooo taking meds soon, try to eat some lunch/fruits, take vitamins, then sleeping around 9:30pm this evening.

Vitamin C + Echinacea work wonders, and drink lots of fluids. Hope you feel better soon! Don't eat anything too heavy either.
