I played with them for a while...they're definitely not bad. The big thing that kills me about them and makes them completely unworthy of buying to me is the .1% pitch increments. I need at least the .05% that the CDJ-800's have, otherwise I just get annoyed at having to ride the pitch the whole mix...

mmm i might have to clarified that one, they solved it on the new firmware update so everything is fine... for now, and for the pitch control they do have a .05% speed, i think you are confused cause the pioneers goes at .02% over the pitch control.

I'm not confused. .02% is excessive - you don't need more than .05%.

The only reason I was confused was because I haven't heard anything about these for about a year, and I certainly never heard about a firmware update that made the pitch resolution .05%. Nice! That was my main qualm with them.

oh i see well i guess at the end of the day it really depends on everyone to try them out... the only bad thing i see about them, is the pitch lock function to scratch, but since i donīt scratch it dosent bothers me at all.. sorry for misjudge your comment

I'm getting an Axiom 49 soon, any thoughts ?

Thanks, man. Yah, big fan of the Axiom. I get an enormous amount of use from it - both from Ableton on mixes when I choose to and the production end (primarily). I've got absolutely no complaints using it with XP... good choice in my opinion.

This is utter bollox, only ever spouted by CDJ800 owners that couldn't afford a 1000.

Fact

Basic house party setup
2 - Pioneer CDJ-200s
1 - Numark DXM06
1 - Sony MDR-V700 Headphones

(I'll post more pics once I have everything finished)

Basic setup - I have my laptop up there because it has all of my music indexed on it. Tells me the BPM of each song and which CD its on, makes it easier then labeling all the CDs with every track and BPM, plus its easier for searching. I also have a desktop that I use to stream music and whatnot.

Messy side view

Another messy view, this one includes my sweet computer chair, haha.

Distance shot. The pool table usually has a ping pong table on top of it.

Side view.

I'm hoping to have it all cleaned up and put back together by the end of this weekend, but I got bored and haven't contributed to this thread since about 2004, so I figured why not.

I guess the word "excessive" is a little much.....02% is nice, but it's not needed for me to enjoy mixing. .05% is.

Focusrite Saffire

Technics and Peavey loudspeakers in the background
Axiom 61

Roland DI-20
2 DOD eqs (one old, one new)
QSC RMX 1450 amp

Godin LGX-SA w/synth output (gets a decent acoustic sound, really nice electric, and routed to the DI-20 to record midi)
Ibanez electric/acoustic
Fender F-05 (old guitar from my father-in-law, but by far my favorite sounding acoustic)
Motif ES8

I've got a new desk coming in a couple weeks as well as a new computer. This one isn't bad - dual core with 4 gigs of ram, but I'm picking up a new XPS with the extreme processer and 4 gigs of slightly better ram. The desk will be nice though!

DUDE I'm coming over huh.. you got any CD players?

lots of inspirational quotes to keep me motivated :P

Nah custom made, spacetek stands are pretty overpriced, I've never used them but their purpose is to hold the CD player up and 200$ for a stand isn't justifiable

I did it for a while, but now that I have my whole basement that I can look out on, I don't think I could go back to staring at a wall.
