Laszlo, that apartment space is gorgeous. Would love to see the after pics once you get it all setup.

Tubby, very nice setup as well. What skin are you using for Serato? Never seen that before.

Nor have I seen a rotary 3000. It looks much better.

Nightclubs Suck!

Shure M44-7 ftw!

Yes those are the turntablist ones, but DAMN do they sound wicked for ANYTHING. Mids and Lows are 100x better than the Nightclubs! Nightclubs just crazy ass the Hi's

Posted by tubby on Mar-19-2008 03:24:

the software isn't serato, it's djdecks.

Posted by epdarks on Mar-19-2008 03:43:

God that rotary 3000 is sex.

Posted by Alex on Mar-19-2008 04:25:

What happened to that guy in here that had a DJM-3000 and some like super shitty cans and 2 discmans?

I wonder if he ever got more gear...

Posted by Sukhoi29SU on Mar-19-2008 05:23:

A lot of $ invested in this setup; it's a shame I'm such a shitty DJ

2 CDJ-1000 MK3's
DJM 600 mixer
2.4 GHz Macbook Pro
WD 1TB "my book" external
Serato
Sony MDR-7509s
Behringer Truth 2031A monitors

Thought someone might comment on that table. Prior to that, I was just using some shitty folding table that wobbled around a lot. I finally started searching online for something better only to realize that people think when they put "DJ" before the word "table" they can charge an extra couple hundred dollars for a table. I wasn't about to pay hundreds of dollars for some carpeted table with holes in it for speaker wire, so looked elsewhere.

I was moving to Ohio so searched craigslist under furniture and this guy was selling this "outdoor bar" that he had bought at a grocery store, but never put together. He had a small picture of it along with the description and was selling it for $75. I decided I'd give it a shot, and went and picked it up- put it together, and been loving it since. It has a glass top, and plenty of room for everything I have. It also has a mesh lining that goes around the entire bottom portion if I ever decide to put that on.

With the curve in the glass top- it's like it was meant for a DJ to stand there. It's really ideal for what I need, and I saved a lot of $ by not buying some shitty table from a DJ store.

So those in need of a nice table- look towards "outdoor bars"

Thinking of buying a new table off craigslist, the crappy pseudotable/shelves i'm using don't really work that well.

I think this desk looks perfect.

It might be a little low for you, but the design is perfect! I love those small tables in the corner, they're asking for a set of CDJ's to be put on them, or monitors or a laptop! Sooo many options.

Yeah, I'm gonna go check it out after work and see how tall it stands. I'm pretty short so hopefully its not a problem. This is my current setup, its pretty ghetto.

Do any of yall bring your equipment out and play ever? I want to get a portable table also because the couple times i'ved played at parties with my stuff my setup is awful haha.

Posted by tintin11 on Mar-19-2008 20:24:

Personally I would never take my monitors to house parties... they're my babies.

Sukhoi29SU what's the model of the stands you're using??

Posted by n3lly on Mar-19-2008 20:29:

Looks like tidy little set up to me mate.
Gets the job done well doesn't it!?

You should make your own table otherwise! I did and it turned out better than i thought it would.

I'm fairly certain these are them. They're definitely QuikLok's
I'd recommend them for bedroom setups, but prolly not for parties because I have them maxed out in height to get the speakers on same level with my ears... Sturdy enough if you aren't going to touch them, but at a party you'd run a big risk of someone knocking them over.

If Staples managers were smart they'd add "DJ" to the price tag and up the price a couple hundred dollars

Ha, that was me. Still no more gear... broke as a joke. The 3000 is for sale dirt cheap... nobody will take this thing off my hands!

Posted by Watts on Mar-20-2008 12:41:

rizo I have that same mixer. Do you have any problems with sound bleeding through the speakers and headphones when the channel gain is set to zero?
