but dude, you probably bitch about Yankee fans all over the place for the same reason.

Will you be a Chelsea fan for the rest of your life, say...when that Russian cocksucker dies and they start to suck again like all throughout their history? I can at least understand when people who start getting into soccer cheer for the Reds or Man U given their impressive history, but Chelsea? Seriously, they were a joke until a few years ago.

Which club doesn't buy a whole lot of players?

I don't understand this statement and I still won't accept your reason which is they've got a rich guy supporting them with very much money. There's a bunch of clubs using the same way of buying players, not as expensive, and not as good, but still they're buying both foreigners and natives.

This is a part of football nowadays if you haven't noticed.

For an example, Deportivo La Corua bought 18 new players for the start of this season, while teams like Athletic Bilbao is keeping up with their own ethnic players, No foreigners and Javi Martinez who was bought from Osasuna I believe, cost them about 6 million .

It's all the same principle and everyone does this, just that some teams can't afford to pay the same price as Chelsea can.

Deal with it.

ahem, I have to hate the yankees, its in my like LIFE contract... so don't use the yanks as a comparison... and yankees don't suck, and I've never been one of those idiots who says "yankees suck" those dipshits are just stupid, idiotic bastards...

Every club needs a start, yeah Chelsea don't have the storied tradition... but wtf... cause they go from shit to glory in a short time, not allowed to support them?

Chelsea have worked really hard to branch out in the United States... and I give them mad props for that... if you're an EPL team and you just ignore the USA, you're fuckin dumb... maybe Chelsea only do it because of Roman's billions, but either way, thank you Chelsea!

let this continue and it's going to ruin the game at the grassroots level. Dude, you're probably the same type of guy who bitches about the Yankees buying everybody in baseball, but it's ok for the "elite" teams to do it in football? Hypocrisy.

I'm not even really bitching, but it sure makes it boring as ever to watch these leagues and have the same 3 or 4 teams winning. So who will be this year? Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool or Arsenal? Well Man U just went and bought 3 of the best players in the world, and Chelsea countered by stealing talent from a lower division club for record bids, etc, etc. It gets tiresome.

nah, I'm east coast bias, I love when the yankees splurge, because they can't win... just like Real Madrid... they got the yankees complex, keep buying, and can't win shit...

I dont know why you're complaing, its not like there is ONE dominant team, if anything there are TWO... Chelsea and ManU... but you got ASSenal, and Liverpool... so thats 4... and the wildcard contenders, like Bolton, Pompey... wtf... not EVERY team can be great...

I don't get you, this EPL season is like the most up-in-the-air, you got MANU out in front by 8 fuckin points last week, now its down to two... fuckin enjoy it and shut the hell up...

You do realise Chelsea just got their 2nd and 3rd Premiership titles, right? I like it how you complain that "it's always the same 3 or 4 teams winning", but conveniently forget that a new team has just entered that group of potential title challengers.

I guess you'll never be pleased until that new challenging team is Everton.

I'm enjoying the NFL more this season to be honest. But dude, you don't need to throw around insults and be beligerent. That's kinda immature.

I always enjoy the EPL and I always cheer for these English teams in the CL that I usually hate in the League. But I think they need to reform the transfer process and start putting a ceiling on how much teams spend. Have it be very high of course, but still, they need to start capping these ridiculous transfer fees and contracts. I can't help it that Everton is owned by a cheap **** who thinks moving the stadium to FUCKING KIRKBY is a good idea. But I support my team to the end, as always.

You're kidding me, right?

sure he had an off year so far, but he's been putting goals in like nobody's business last few years.

didn't he lead chelski in scoring last yr?

first of all, Lampard is lazy and never back tackles, plus he cannot beat a man. His performance for the ENglish national side has bee absolutely absymal lately. OVERRATED.

lampard has the recored for consecutive matches played in the premiership,

his fitness is second to none, ofcourse he can beat a man but he doesnt need to the way he strikes the ball (see the last game),

he has just become chelseas all-time best scorer from midfield.

he is a great player despite what other rival supporters say and everytime team across europe would love to have him

Posted by noikeee on Dec-18-2006 14:50:

Lampard is the classic example of a player great for his club but crap for his national team. We've had tons of them for Portugal over the years - Pauleta who was one of the biggest stars of the french league yet never had a great world or euro cup, Tiago right now who is fantastic for Lyon yet mediocre for Portugal, even Deco doesn't play for us as good as does for Barcelona, even Figo previous to Euro 2000 was the same (he then absolutely exploded for Portugal in the following years).

I don't think there's any doubt that Lampard is brilliant for Chelsea. A bit debatable on whether he's one of the world's very best, but he's certainly not very far from the top. Now what Lampard definitely isn't is a "complete" player - he's not exceptional defending or a superb dribbler. But I don't think you need to be great at absolutely every different aspect of football to be a great player.

Exactly.

Lampard is an attacking midfielder. He mainly pushes up the field in support of the strikers.

Take Makelele. He's perfect example of a defensive midfielder. Doesn't score goals, but he helps out the defenders.

Both are good midfielders, but in different roles.

Posted by Cloud on Dec-27-2006 08:26:

phew...About time. Reading surprised and took the 1 point. Your latest performances were bad, winning games in 90+ min, lucky bastards. I saw this draw coming tbh.

Man Utd 50
Chelsea 46

Arsenal 36
Bolton 36
Portsmouth 35
Liverpool 34

You would be so shit without Didier

Posted by zoric on Dec-27-2006 11:42:

Didier Drogba scored his 50th and 51st goal for Chelsea yesterday, and both with great headers. He can't always save Chelsea even though him and Lampard has been saving them lately.

Drogba is world class

+1

Even though he wants to be Portuguese with his diving antics.
