I want Angola to win simply because of their coach lol He's the nicest looking guy!!!

Maradona looked like a 10 year old kid when Messi came on.

watching from work... Angola is actually playing really good. i still hope mexico wins tho.

Most ppl have undermined the Saudis and the Tunisians but what ppl don't realize is they are both capable teams. At least the Saudis got more depth and have a versatile offense. Once the Ukrainians realize playing long balls isn't the only style of attack then they might have a chance of winning games.

TrickDaddE don't act like Germany's group is harder then group H. I don't believe the Pols, Costa Ricans, and Ecaudorians to be all that solid.

We'll just have to wait and see what transpires with Spain after the group stages.

Meh.. didn't like this game too much. Mexico played very sloppy, terrible finishing. Good for Angola!

So happy to see Mexico lose some points here. Now Iran has some chances too.

We'll see what will happen tomorrow with Portugal.

But I gutta say Mexico's performance was far from their first game. They had no rhythm today and also weren't accurate in their passes.

I didn't get to see the game today.. but I am hoping that it gets repeated tonight so that I can watch it and see for myself. Everything I have read has said their playing wasn't up to par today which isn't a good thing if they actually want to beat Argentina.

Yeah fine they have advanced to the second round now for sure, but the key is advancing 1st.. not 2nd

Yah, I highly recommend watching both games. The Dutch game and the Argentina game. Both were really good but I gotta gree with what you've heard, The Dutch did not play up to their standard came the second part of the game. It could have easily been a tie or a defeat . Watch Argentina play, it was a lesson in football.

The guys at work during the WC have been saying to me on a daily basis "Jenn, you belong in Europe with all your football talk". But I think you are right and I will fit in well once I get to NL next year

And if I can't watch them, I will definitely tape them to watch cuz I want to see how both teams played today so that I can see what Holland has in store for them on Wednesday for sure. I am excited. And will definitely be talking to my manager on Monday to allow me to skip my lunch on Tuesday so I can take 2 hours for lunch to watch the game

Holland's defence was very impressive...Usually they get in a panic when the ball gets close to their penalty area, but they were calm, cool and collected against the Ivory Coast and made it difficult for them to get a quality shot on goal.

For a guy with no coaching experience, Marco van Basten's been a godsend for the Dutch thus far.

his true test will be against argentina. bearly beating serbia (who had injured players mind you) and playing worse than ivory coast (with the aid of a biased ref) isnt much of an accomplishment. BUT he does get results so time will tell how far he can take holland without those handicaps.

When Holland's FA hired van Basten, it was with Euro '08 in mind - No-one even considered that they get through their WC qualifying group. Yet he picked largely unknown players and still beat the Czechs (Holland's bogey team for the past few years) home and away, en route to a 12-match unbeaten streak. He's had some of the greatest tactical mangers of the modern era to learn from...Johan Cruyff, Arrigo Sacchi and Fabio Capello...so he has an astute footballing brain...

uuummm...the foul count was Holland 24 - Ivory Coast 15

keep in mind also that Argentina weren't exactly dominating against them either. I think the Ivory Coast deserve more respect than that.

he is just bitter that Serbia was eliminated today
let's hope they can at least win over IC since they should be easy to beat
