And yes, huevos is slang for balls...but in this case the phrase "le hace huevos" means pretty much what I said above.

haha ah that makes sense... Man Spanish in general just makes sense.. I really should learn it. I studied Latin at high school a long time ago and just based on my long forgotten schoolboy Latin I can usually take apart basic Spanish sentences and make some sense of them.

Yeah, the only difficult thing is the slang which is pretty damn creative most of the time and it usually means many different things depending on the context.

lol.. I can't go from English to Spanish at all, so I just go the google translate option..

I was trying to say "So soon? But we've only just met!"

Posted by woscar on Nov-17-2009 01:14:

Yeah, those translators don't work for shit. The correct translation would be:

"Tan pronto? Pero si nos acabamos de conocer!"

I am pretty sure slang is hard period, no matter what language you are referring to.

Yeah, but with so many Spanish speaking countries the same slang means different things everywhere you go, which makes Spanish particularly difficult in that sense.

oh, definitely. it's just funny to think that NYPD is monitoring the warehouse parties by reading TA.

Yeah, there's this guy in my office that doesn't know shit in English and since it's company policy that all e-mails are to be written in English he uses one of those translators. Most of the time it's completely illegible.

yea pat and i have good laughs over slang from our languages. i'll explain to him how 1 english/american word can mean 3 completely different things and vice versa.

quebecois (french canadian) is basically all slang french though.

Yes, yukii was just making fun of you before because you spelled it "cajones" which literally means "drawers"

Posted by Slylee on Nov-17-2009 02:05:

Posted by Rose on Nov-17-2009 02:15:

I love cursing in Spanish, that's something I'll never forget. The insults are more, well, insulting in that language

Come mierda! Hijo de la gran puta! Traga leche! Mama huevon! Mariconson de mierda!

Ah yes, growing up with Cubans
