Went on a bike ride with my boss before work today for the first time around 6.

He had an ipod and I asked what he is listening to. His response??

"Oh you would not know it, it's just a mix by this DJ Johnathan Peters" That was crazy.

I went to my car gave him my ipod and we rode for 20 miles and he listened to Infected Mushrooms the whole time, holy s****!

Wow interesting...well at least u exposed him to some good stuff (I.M.) !!! Nice that he's open to that.

I'm like hiding out in a distant hallway right now, bathroom break...been in 4 long staff/conf calls since the morning..where I've been called in to participate/take dictation cuz an exec called out and he needs minutes. An asst is out so its up to da temp (me). Been on my blackberry all day...its been timing out too dammit

I'm serious, the VP has calls every hour according to his calendar today and all of them involve me participating in them to some extent...

Posted by dizzydy on Jun-27-2007 20:23:

phoenixBEBE, I know what you mean about the conference calls, I do a couple of those a day And I have to be the speaker in at least 4 a week - I hate those cause I hate speaking on the phone

At least you work in Hoboken. I love that town, been looking to buy a place out there but it seems like its a requirement you win the lotto b4 you can do that .... I'm there all the time regardless. It's going to be 5 soon and you'll be out of there. 1$ drafts and 3$ drinks 4-9 at 'Bhahama Mamma's' on Washington Street!

Posted by DJ_Lord on Jun-27-2007 20:27:

todays been craaaaaaaaaaaaaazyyyy!!! i am now finally eating lunch hahah

Posted by dizzydy on Jun-27-2007 20:50:

HA! DJ_Lawd, that does not qualify as lunch! I had a lunch & learn today, which basically to me means, we'll give you pizza & salad and you forget about leaving for lunch ... the worst part of it, it's required Don't sound like lunch to me!

do they actually HAVE bahama mama's? cuz I LOVE those!!! mmmmmmmmm

Posted by dizzydy on Jun-27-2007 21:09:

Sure do, but I don't know if they are on the "Happy hour list". It's a cute place, during happy hour. Jukebox music and pretty empty. After 10pm they start charging $5 cover, and DJ comes on plays hip-hop, gets way too crowded and it's downhill after that ...

I usually go early for the dolla drafts, when 9:00 comes around walk two-three blocks to the path and head into the city. Hoboken got a lotta GOOD restaurants where you can get lunch b4 4:00 for like $6, but the food should cost 3X that much ... good atmosphere

yes ive heard its expensive...

well working in Hoboken i get double-taxed annually i *think* and im sure imma losing some money every paycheck. not to mention its an unlimited metrocard PLUS a 40-trip Quickcard...but hey it beats being unemployed.

so im thankful. there are much more positives longterm and ill try to keep it as straight as possible.

I already LOVE the environment though, the company the people. and i LOVE it that its almost like living in a new place. I love starting over, period. I will HAVE To explore the town around me eventually if i ever am able to GO OUT for lunch!!! i cant wait to discover new things about the neighborhood. i am in LOVE with the waterfront!!! and i used to live by Exchange Place in a past life, on Morris Street in a walk-up apt (i hope i got the street name correct). it will be a welcome opportunity to go back and see how the neighborhood has wholly CHANGED in 6 years. ive already noticed the aboveground rail which is amazing to see!!!

hmm "Bhahama Mamma's" ill have to ask fellow coworkers about that!! ill have to have a place to take peeps who visit me out here.

btw 5 o clock came SOO quickly today after i wrote that post it was insane.

They do that here too but I sneak out anyway Some tips on how to do that....get the food leave it on your desk then go out. Come back and pretnend you just got the food and didn't eat yet and you were just coming back from the bathroom or your car or something Then eat and go back to "learning" hehe

Never had one....what's in it?

Posted by dizzydy on Jun-28-2007 12:59:

The waterfront IS nice, and theres a little bike route along it that goes into Edgewater and Jersey City? really cool... you can sit on the green and watch people catch ... crabs! from the Hudson! go figure

Nice tips euphoria, too bad most of the ones I have are in the conf room with a presenter bleh ... will def try that leave 'half' your food on the desk then come back later

Bahama Mama - coconut rum + grenadine + oj + pineapple joos + ice + blender

Posted by yankeeBaby on Jun-28-2007 13:06:

^^The first time I had one, it had all that, plus a splash of coconut milk, in a hallowed out pinapple, with sprinkles of coconut on top. Minus the ice because it wasnt a blended drink. mmmmmmm.......I had that on my senior high school trip to the bahamas, so I started with the best

Sounds kinda tasty actually, I'd drink it

Well I been here 4 years now and I know this place inside out and I can be very sneaky when I need to be If your all in the same room then that won't work tho :P

Hoboken..
You need happy hour at Green Rock by the Path. I forget if it's every weekday or a specific day, but they have $1 beers. $1! You can order as many as you want and sit there slamming a table of beers!

I LOOOOOVE lunch and learns...well firstly I rarely go out for lunch and usually presenters tend to bring Cosis or catered food with pastas salads etc so to me sall good and I don't have to pay for shit

Posted by phoenixBEBE on Jun-28-2007 15:00:

I had a computer prob this morning so I called over one of the network ppl. We started talking n the first question he asked me was,"so are you excited about the iPhone?" Lol! Started getting into conversation about it. Turns out there r probably a few execs here who will have it by Monday because they r top dogs within dept/industry. Also I was told that every employee here probably will get a discount on the iPhone from At&T eventually since the company buys TONS of phones yearly (but whatever still too pricey hahaa)

Too bad I'm not a typical early adopter - besides being BROKE-ASS, I so do not think its worth getting right now. I am *very* intrigued by it though and its def been awhile that I've been so. Def very curious about the functionality on it and can't wait to play around with one. Heheh

Posted by dizzydy on Jun-28-2007 15:23:

Cosi IS the best! It's def alright when they bring in the healthy/good food, I guess my prob. is it does not feel like a break if I don't go outside and feel the sun/wind/rain/snow???

yeah, I don't think I'd touch crabs from the Hudson, now matter what side of the Hudson you take it out of

Funny you are talking about the iPhone because I hear about it all day everyday at work (I work in the telecom industry for a competitor) and I am sick of it cause I go home and CNN is sayin' the same. Frankly, I can't stand all this devotion to it when there is so much fd up sh*t goin on in the world ... I mean most people don't even earn $500 in 2 weeks! I'm sure it will sell good and next month they will come out with the iPhone2 that will make you coffee in the morning

I would feel like my laptop and iPod are extra baggage now if I get the iPhone (I'm kind of a minimalist ) Whaddyatink?

Posted by phoenixBEBE on Jun-28-2007 15:49:

^^ I'd just wait for the 2nd generation to come out...which, judging by past history, should be just a few months from now...LOL!
I don't even USE my 20gb ipod anymore its a 4th gen, old, and its collecting dust, meh

Anyway...work is getting BUSYYYY and my blackberry batterys getting low so I def gotta get off. Have a great day all

Posted by DJ_Lord on Jun-28-2007 15:51:

fuck that im keeping my flip phone. dont need blackberry or iphone. thatd be the end of it can u imagine, my boss would be on my ass 24/7. ffs!

Posted by dizzydy on Jun-28-2007 15:56:

^ Def. no blackberry for me. I put it into my contract when I got my job and sure enough they offered to 'give' me a blackberry. I said no thanks.

I feel like we are getting close to the times portrayed in "Minority Report"

Posted by phoenixBEBE on Jun-28-2007 16:08:

lol nah this is my personal one...i ended up texting WAAYYY too often with regular phone, used to rack up about $100 in overage charges...got to the point where INCOMING was already 400 msgs (can u believe that?~~~) So I got the 8700 for free plus a 2yr data/phone plan, 1000 anytime min, UNLIMITED data/text/internet = $59.99 a month. cannot go WRONG with that at all. =)

there is NOO freakin' way i would let MY boss keep TABS on me...well unless i was making DA MONEY. THEN...maybe i would accept being chained like dat...rofl! even at my last job, my boss saw i had a BB and asked for my messenger PIN i was like umm NO.

(hmm i managed to SNEAK onto my company internet JUST NOW cuz i had to keep my promise to a friend -- yes you YB <3 . but NO MORE doing this AFTER today, cant be establishing bad habits even tho we have privacy screens so no one can see whats on our screens. Work computer will only be for work and thats THAT. lol.)

Wimbldeon Update - Serena Williams fell down in pain and has barely moved for 7min...now Serena is a bad ass so to see her crumble to the ground and continue screaming in pain is freaky. She's back on court with tears in her eyes

*Serena just took it to a tiebreak and keep in mind she can't run
