I dunno if I ever posted pics after I upgraded to my Korg KM-202, but whatever, I picked up a real table, so moar pics!

Posted by Ted Promo on Jul-30-2008 13:45:

No offense, but that is one gimp looking mixer

I'm sure it's decent since it's Korg, but it looks diiiire.

I don't actually think it looks that bad.. The green is nice. Not the biggest fan of white stuff but it could look really nice if the table was maybe a different colour and it didn't stick out as much as it does..

Beat me to it. Was going to reference the martini picture.

Nice setup loski - where are the monitor stands from. Also, you might wanna move the speakers forward, away from the wall - you'll get much better bass response.

Heh, the mixer is way bigger than it needs to be, since they used the same shell for the 4-channel version...But I love it to death.
I'd love to get a black table at some point, but that one was free, so I'm not complaining.

The table is from Ikea...I forgot what it was called...

When I'm recording I turn the monitors toward me and have them away from the wall

When I'm drinking and partying...I straighten them out for a more aesthetic appeal...My powered sub and linked up 7.1 system provide plenty low-end to mix for a crowd...

I put up some DMX/sound controlled lighting, looks nice with the haze. I unpacked the EFX-1000 and Xone 1D...The boom boom room is almost complete

Any suggestions on what to add? I'm waiting on my buddy to sell me his CDJ 1000 MK3's for cheap...Then, I dunno?

Thanks for the info on the desk. When you're partying it really doesn't matter about the toe in on the speakers, especially when you're seeing 4 of them anyway

Do you find the 7.1 messes with the sound though? My 5.1 has a built in delay for the rears which even when set to the lowest setting still pisses me off.

My only suggestion is a drum machine - I love my korg electribe and sometimes lose hours layering my own made loops over a dj set.
In terms of DJ equipment, I really can't think of anything else that wouldn't just be surplus kit - the only thing is you might want to sue the monitor stands as stands for the CDJ's (if they fit) and then get wall mounting brackets for the monitors - that's what I have and I'm really happy with the way looks and sounds.

My stereo has a delay. I find it annoying, but realistically all systems have some kind of delay. I've heard it said on these forums numerous times that many club systems have a delay, so I think it's just something you have to learn to deal with.

Not what I'm talking about. 5.1 and 7.1 systems sometimes have a specific delay built in to delay the signal to the rear speakers, to increase the psychoacoustic effect of the surrounds.

What you are talking about is just simple delay caused by the system taking time to react to the signal. Clubs usually suffer from this because the signal is going through a lot of equipment and the sound from the speaker probably has to travel further to reach you than your home setup.

Ok, my bad. I should have read what you were saying more carefully
