Well shit... Calderon speaks the truth but he couldn't have picked a worse time for those statements, specially when things were starting to look better for the squad.

Although he has had some good intentions, he has fucked it up yet again and I just don't see how he's gonna go through that one. He should learn how to shut his mouth, because everytime he opens it it's just a fuck up after fuck up...

And to make things even worse, Ronaldo might go to Milan for free... fuck that!!!

"Guti has always been a promise, he started playing along with Raul, yet Raul has been on top of it for over 12 years"... implying Guti hasn't done shit in his career... also true.

"Real Madrid's squad is filled with high egos, shallow players who never pay for anything in the city, have no culture, and among other things for instance Casillas gets paid around 9 million euros, while his sub Diego Lopez only charges 300K euros"... true that as well.

"Real Madrid's stadium has become a theater, where the fans never cheer for the team, are cold and very unsupportive, unlike fans from Italy or England"... biggest truth, specially those who live in Madrid. Most of the fans scattered around the world are so different and always try to cheer for the team no matter what.

Thanks for the translation Luis

I've never understood why Real Madrids managers after Vincent del Bosque is starting with Guti. He never makes anyone happy when playing and I believe Jurado would've been a lot better in the position where Guti has had a million chances.

Luckily you sold Jurado to us, and now he's developing into a good player.

Raul hasn't done shit for 3 or 4 years now and should be dropped, doesn't matter how big he is.

Couldn't agree with you more, Raul's era is over, has been over for that period of time already... I still don't understand how coaches don't see it. Running like a headless chicken around the pitch is not playing football.

Although Jurado was sold to Atletico, there's a clause (sp) that says that we can still buy him back next year for the 2008-2009 season at the same price he was sold...

Guti has had his moments, but most of the experts agree on one thing, he's no leader and every time he is given the chance to be a starter, he just falls under the pressure. He is a great player coming in as a sub in my opinion, and his performances over the years have proven that... I think he will be leaving Real next season.

I've never thought the right decision is to buy new and expensive players who's got a lot of status. That's been Real Madrids biggest problem the last couple of seasons and ever since they last won La Liga.

The right mixture of players has always been the main factor why some teams really develops their game. Real Madrid on the other hand seems to be thinking more about shirt-sales.

I don't really understand why they have to spend fortunes on players that'll never adapt to Spanish football in 3 years. Why they keep on buying players for hundreds of millions without really thinking if they'll fit the teams.

The best prospects I've seen at Real Madrid so far is Torres and Diego Lopez, maybe De la Red. There are clearly young hungry players who wants to evolve and get better, play for their team and for their fans, That's essential.

I know about the clause on Jurado though, will be interesting to see what team he'll choose if Atltico makes it to the UEFA Champions League this year.

well at least theyve oficially acknowledge the problem and they are starting to make some changes..i just hope to start seeing significant results within the next couple of years.

Thumbs up

Tonights Copa del Rey return leg at Santiago Bernabeu was absolutely fantastic!

Real Betis made it through to the next round of CdR after Danis goal which he scored in the 37th minute of the game. Robinho opened the goalscoring and the game was sick in the end!

The last 7 minutes of extra time was phenomenal with more than 5 chances for Real Madrid to score on, but somehow Real Betis made it through! Ramos had like every single chance, and a bicycle kick which he shot over the goal. Even Robinho had an amazing oppurtunity to score on, but Doblas somehow kept it out and prevented the ball from going into the back of the net.

One of the linesmen was hit my a bottle, though I believe it was out of plastic. There was also a smaller fight with Betis and Real Madrid-players.

The best Real Madrid-players for the night was clearly Reyes, Robinho, Higuan, Gago and Sergio Ramos. Gago finally showed how good he actually is when he's on the top of his game. Sergio Ramos should've scored like 3 times, but was denied by Doblas every single time. Higuan is playing great currently at Real Madrid, the opposite is his partner: Ruud van Nistelrooy who probably touched the ball twice or something tonight, was very bad

Betis is a lot better than Deportivo Alaves though, and without Saviola, you would've been knocked out aswell.

Well excuse us for having one fit striker...

We had Moggi and we did get relegated for cheating, now I don't really understand where this comes into the picture because it was a discussion about Barcelona, Real and their opponents.

I was just pointing out that you'll get knocked out if you're not playing better than you've done the last couple of games, and that's all.

Now stop being emo, Alex

Real fined, threatened with stadium closure over Cup fracas
AFP
January 19, 2007

MADRID (AFP) - The Spanish football authorities reportedly fined Real Madrid and threatened the club with a stadium ban after fans threw objects onto the pitch as the club crashed out Thursday to Real Betis in the Spanish Cup.

According to Marca sports daily's website, the Cup competition authority of the Spanish Football Federation elected to hand down an unspecified fine and added it was mulling the possibility of an additional stadium ban after a bottle thrown onto the pitch hit a linesman's arm, the report indicated.

A mobile telephone was also hurled onto the pitch at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium and referee Enrique Mejuto Gonzalez had to stop play briefly before Betis emerged with a 1-1 second leg draw which took them through to the last eight on the away goals rule.

Fans had been outraged that Real defender Ivan Helgeura's late header, which found the back of the net, had been ruled out through offside.

It's probably nothing for Real Madrids players anyways, their fans has been shitty all season long, but for understandable reasons ofcourse.

fucking tie sucks.... and the stupid goals that were off side sucked too :/

oh well, i guess now we gotta go for the champions leauge

Posted by Danny Ocean on Jan-21-2007 22:02:

what a goal by Reyes!!!! we completely dominated second half..and played really well..very important win for us today..now were tied up with los culeros and sevilla..

Posted by zoric on Jan-21-2007 22:10:

Great freekick in the corner of the goalkeeper wins this game for Real Madrid.

Though it was a pretty nice halfdive by Reyes to get that freekick, but still, you won.

Posted by luisjb82 on Jan-21-2007 22:17:

Extremely solid game all around by Real this time, as Danny said, we dominated the entire second half even though it didn't mean we had many goal chances, at least it looked as if we were in control, specially in defense which has been our weak point all season.

Great win.

I still hope Capello changes his mind about Ronaldo and gives him a chance, who knows he might explode once again.

I was finely convinced by Torres' performance as well. I think he deserves a chance to become a starter, he played such a great game today, same with Diarra and Gago and Helguera was very solid in the back.

I've got to say Torres has done a great job so far, he's been playing good ever since he got a chance by Capello. He's got a high workingrate and seems to fit into the current defensive line.

Mallorca were unlucky today, they had a real chance to take at least a point.

Gregorio Manzano should've started Jankovic and Arango instead of that more defensive line-up. They could've got a lot more pressure on Real Madrid with their best goalscorer so far (Jankovic) and Arango who scored that beautiful goal last year I believe it was.

I don't like that defensive mentality some managers has, you've got to risk something to win or at least take away points from the major teams.

Posted by luisjb82 on Jan-22-2007 22:37:

lolz... Calderon strikes back.

He has announced a "major deal" with an unknown company, to sponsor the jerseys Real will be wearing possibly next season I believe... In his own words, it is an unthinkable deal for a football team.

And then he asks himself why every god damn team in the world will demand 30 millions for a shitty player when Real knocks the door... Way to go Calderon!!! Keep on saying we're loaded as fuck, that will get you cheap signings!!! fucking idiot I swear.
